Big retailers like Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Best Buy shutter their doors. A few grocery stores open on Thanksgiving; however, they do so with limited hours. But what about Walgreens — is Walgreens open on Thanksgiving?
Even though Walgreens has been open on Thanksgiving Day in past years, they’re actually switching things up this year and closing most locations on Thanksgiving to give employees the day off. But 24-hour Walgreens locations will still be open on Thanksgiving for in-store shopping. Here’s what we know.

Is Walgreens open on Thanksgiving?
No — in a first-ever for the company, Walgreens has announced that most Walgreens locations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day for in-store shopping. The only Walgreens locations that will remain open on Thanksgiving are 24-hour Walgreens stores.

All 24-hour Walgreens locations and 24-hour pharmacies will be open regular hours on Thanksgiving.
If you don’t have a 24-hour Walgreens near you, plan to shop online at Walgreens.com on Thanksgiving Day.
Walgreens Pharmacy Thanksgiving Hours
Unless your local Walgreens pharmacy is a 24-hour location, your pharmacy will be closed. We always recommend calling your Walgreens to verify their operating hours on Thanksgiving Day.
Walgreens Curbside Pickup and Delivery Hours
Walgreens 24-hour locations will likely offer free curbside pickup and same-day delivery on Thanksgiving. Free curbside pickup is typically available until an hour before closing, with a minimum spend of $10. Although there isn’t an order minimum for delivery, there is a delivery fee that varies by store (but usually $5.99). The cutoff time is typically two hours before closing (so about 4 p.m.).

What are Walgreens’ Thanksgiving Eve hours?
Most Walgreens stay open regular hours on Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday), so your store will likely be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, some will operate with limited hours.
