Each summer, Kroger celebrates the start of the season with an ice cream giveaway, and the 2026 event is officially confirmed. Kroger is giving away 100,000 pints of Kroger Brand ice cream starting Friday, June 19, to celebrate the summer solstice and the store's new All-American ice cream collection. That's up from 92,000 pints in 2025. You can score a free pint of Kroger brand ice cream (regularly $2.29) just by clipping a digital coupon.
This year's giveaway is bigger than ever, more than double the 45,000 given out back in 2024.. Kroger's Ice Cream Giveaway is a yearly event that gives you a free pint of ice cream via a digital coupon.
Kroger's Ice Cream Giveaway gives you one free pint of store-brand ice cream through a digital coupon. You can use it for either classic Kroger brand or the new All-American ice cream collection. The coupon works on any flavor of Kroger-brand ice cream or sherbet in the 16-ounce pint size, but keep in mind that it excludes their premium Private Selection label.
Kroger Free Ice Cream Day is happening on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Kroger times their free ice cream giveaway to coincide with the Summer Solstice, which falls on June 21, 2026. Ahead of the summer solstice, customers can grab a free pint by visiting FreeKrogerIceCream.com to download their limited-time, single-use digital coupon, available exclusively on Friday, June 19, 2026, starting at noon E.T., while supplies last. Once you clip the coupon, you have until Friday, July 3, to redeem it in-store.
You'll need to clip a digital Kroger coupon ASAP on the day of the event to get this freebie.
Make sure you have a Kroger Plus Shopper's Card (sign up for free if you don't have one); then visit Kroger.com, or their mobile app (iOS / Android) on June 19, starting at noon ET. Look for the digital coupon and clip it to your account. There's a limit of one coupon per account, so make sure you're logged in to the right account when you claim it.
KCL TIP: The free ice cream coupon typically disappears within hours of being released, so don't wait until later in the day to claim yours.
Redeem the freebie at any Kroger affiliate stores that participate.
Even if you don't live in Kroger territory, you can still take advantage of this freebie if you live near a Kroger affiliate store like Fred Meyer or Smith's.
According to the fine print, the free ice cream promo is available in all U.S. states except California, Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada, and Tennessee. The only Kroger affiliate excluded is QFC.
Clip an additional Kroger coupon on the day of the event to save $1 on two ice cream pints.
If one free pint isn't enough, make sure you also clip the $1 off two Kroger ice cream coupon. Customers who aren't able to snag the free pint can still save $1 on any two pints of Kroger Brand ice cream for redemption through Friday, July 3.
