If you have unwanted jewelry lying around, JCPenney is offering you a chance to trade it in for a free diamond necklace on Feb. 14. There's some fine print to this promo (and the offer is only available at limited stores). So read on for all the details — because this necklace has a retail value of $375. • Bring unwanted jewelry to a participating JCPenney store, and walk out with a FREE diamond necklace. JCPenney is calling this Valentine's Day giveaway "The Ex-Change."

• The free piece of jewelry is a half-carat lab-grown diamond necklace in 14K yellow gold over silver ($375 retail value).

• The event is Feb. 14 only, from 1 - 3 p.m.

• You can trade in any fine or fashion piece of jewelry (from an ex or anyone else). JCPenney will donate or recycle your old item.

• You'll need to be one of the first 50 in line at the jewelry department (one of the first 100 at the Roosevelt Field location). You'll be asked to scan a QR code and agree to the terms and conditions.
