From now through April 29, 2024, the cruise line Margaritaville at Sea is offering a special Heroes Sail Free promotion for military, police, educators, and first responders. Once you verify your status as a member of one of these groups, you’ll get a free 3-day, 2-night cruise to Grand Bahama Island in The Bahamas. Unlike the last Heroes Sail Free offer that ended in October, it’s important to note that a paying guest MUST be sailing with you in the same stateroom for you to get the free cruise offer.
So how exactly does the deal work? And who can you bring? We’ll explain exactly what to know about this Margaritaville at Sea cruise deal.
Who qualifies for the Margaritaville at Sea free cruise?
The list of groups who qualify for the free Margaritaville at Sea cruise includes active and former military, first responders, law enforcement officers, and educators. To claim your free cruise, you’ll register through the GovX ID platform. Once you’re verified as a GovX ID member, you’ll receive a free fare on an inside stateroom (this offer does not include ocean view staterooms).
Keep in mind that the free fare excludes port taxes and fees ($88.44 per person) and gratuities ($14.95 per person, per night).
To get this deal, you must be sailing with at least one paying guest in the same stateroom. According to the offer, additional guests are offered the best retail rate available for the date selected, and blackout dates do apply.
You’ll need to call the Contact Center (800) 814-7100 if you’ll have more than one verified GovX ID member in a room. Booking two qualified members is not an option online right now.
Can you bring a guest on the ‘Heroes Sail Free’ Margaritaville at Sea cruise?
You must bring a guest, but your guest won’t be sailing for free. When you check out, you’ll see the price discount for the qualified member and then separate pricing for the guest. To get the offer, you “must be sailing with at least one paying guest in the same stateroom.”

How much will the Margaritaville at Sea cruise cost?
As mentioned above, guests aren’t free. The hero will pay taxes, fees, port expenses ($88.44), and gratuities ($29.90 for a two-night cruise), and the guest will need to pay for the stateroom.
Where is the Margaritaville at Sea cruise going to?
The 3-day, 2-night cruise will depart from the Port of Palm Beach in Florida and sail to Grand Bahama Island in The Bahamas. Margaritaville at Sea offers a “cruise and stay” option to combine your 2-night cruise with an all-inclusive resort stay on Grand Bahama Island.
You can also add on cruise packages and excursions. I saw one excursion where you can swim with pigs in The Bahamas for $99. How cool is that?
Don’t qualify? Here’s another Margaritaville at Sea offer:
$99 Cruise for Two: You can cruise to the Bahamas for as low as $99 for two. There is also special weekend pricing on “girls night out” special cruises happening this month.
