If you recently bought pork from Walmart or Aldi, you might want to check your fridge. Around 40,763 pounds of raw, boneless pork products are being recalled because they didnโt get the thumbs-up from the U.S. Department of Agricultureโs Food Safety and Inspection Service before hitting shelves.
Now, donโt freak out yet. No one has reported any adverse reactions from chowing down on these pork products. If youโve got these in your fridge, the government advises you not to eat them. To be safe, toss them in the trash or take them back to where you bought them.
OK, hereโs the lowdown on the latest food recall:

Park Street Deli and Marketside pork products are part of this recall โ check your packaging.

According to the official announcement, manufacturer Eastern Meat Solutions is responsible for the recall. The raw, boneless pork products were imported from Canada and then processed into microwaveable barbecue pork dishes. The specific products subject to the recall include various types of Aldiโs Park Street Deli and Walmartโs Marketside โready to heat BBQ porkโ products, each packaged in 16-oz plastic containers.
Check your products for these identifiers; if you got โem, your product is recalled:

If you have any of the recalled pork products, throw them away or take them back to the store for a refund.

First of all, donโt eat the pork if itโs part of this recall. It hasnโt been properly screened. From there, you can either just throw the pork away โ make sure itโs placed in a sealed bag or container to prevent any potential contamination โ or take it back to the store for a refund.
Aldi and Walmart both should give you refunds or exchanges without any issue.
And since each package costs about $7 on average, youโll want that money back.
Tip: If you have any burning questions about this recall, you can reach out to Eastern Meat Solutions directly at customer.service@sierrascs.com. And if you end up having some kind of food reaction, report it online through the Electronic Consumer Complaint Monitoring System.
