Before we can start mourning the all-too-soon end of Prime Day, Amazon’s here to cheer us up with something special in the mail.

For the third year in a row, Amazon has sent their customers a printed toy catalog, giving digital shoppers an analog way to create their holiday wish lists.

The free 2020 Amazon Holiday Wish Book has arrived. Here’s what you need to know:

You can scan any item in the Wish Book using the Amazon app to shop.

They’ve made it pretty easy to connect the printed book to the digital marketplace. If you see something you like in the Holiday Wish Book, just open up the Amazon app, tap the camera icon next to the search bar, and then scan the product image.

You’ll be taken to that product’s listing on Amazon, where you can add it to your cart.

Or, you could just write down your favorites on the included wish list card and search for them later.

There are more than 80 pages of toys in the Holiday Wish Book.

Each page has its own theme, whether it’s focused on a particular brand (LEGO, LOL Surprise, Marvel, Barbie, etc.) or a genre (Video Games & Tech, Family Game Night, Preschool Toys, etc.).

Amazon released their “Toys We Love” list online back in September, and the Holiday Wish Book opens with a portion of that list, sharing 35 of the toys on the 129-product list. (But if you scan the QR code on pages 6-12, you’ll be able to browse/shop the full list.)

There’s a Roblox freebie on page 27.

Amazon is giving Roblox players a free digital item they can use in the game (it’s a narwhal).

To get the freebie, turn to page 27 and follow the instructions in the blue circle.

There’s another exclusive goodie on page 62 that gives Wish Book readers 3 months of Amazon Kids+ — the service that has thousands of kid-friendly books, videos, apps, games and more — for just $0.99 when you use the promo code KidsHoliday at amazon.com/kids+.

The book also has coloring, cooking, and crafting activities.

There are 7 different kid-friendly activities scattered throughout this year’s Wish Book:

  • How to make hot cocoa recipe
  • A Mad Libs-style storytelling activity
  • A color-by-numbers page
  • A short story (and stickers that go with it)
  • A maze
  • Draw your own snow globe scene
  • How to build a miniature alpine lodge out of Amazon boxes

Need more gift ideas? Scan the QR codes.

Just about every two-page spread in the Wish Book also has a scannable QR code that opens up a product category page on Amazon — such as Family Night, Dolls & Plus, Nerf, LOL Surprise, Early Learning & Pretend Play.

Just open your camera app, hover over the pixelated square, and open the link.
