Aldi’s Valentine’s Day cards are in store only and tend to sell out quickly due to their pricing. So check your local Aldi ASAP, and if you see one you want, don’t wait until days before Valentine’s Day to buy. Get them now and plan ahead!

Each Aldi valentines card kit is just $1.99.

There are four Valentine’s Day card sets available. Each set of cards and toys is just under $2, which is the most affordable price we’ve seen for this type of set. You could buy several of the same ones to avoid any jealousy, or you could buy one of each to switch things up.

Here are the four kits you can choose from.

  • Stamp of Approval Valentines
  • Heart Spring Valentines
  • Finger Flinger Toy Valentines
  • Panda Bubbles Valentines

All of the Aldi Valentine’s cards come with eight cards and eight toys.

This is where the deal beats out other deals we’ve seen. You not only get eight Valentine’s Day cards in this kit, but you also get eight toys to go along with it. So you’re essentially getting a total of 16 items in the kit, which at $1.99 works out to $0.12 per item, or $0.24 for the card and toy paired together.

You’ll end up paying around $3 more at Target.

Target sells packs of very similar Valentine’s Day toy gifts in packs of 16 for $3, working out to $0.19 per toy, which is $0.07 more per toy than Aldi. Target also has Valentine’s Day cards for $4 per box. The boxes include 16 to 24 cards. This works out to $0.25 to $0.17 per card versus Aldi’s $0.12 per card. At a minimum, you’ll be spending $0.36 per card and toy pair, while Aldi’s was $0.24. Aldi is the clear winner when you break it down by price per piece.

And now let’s break it down and look at your overall cost: At Target, to get 16 cards ($4) and 16 toys ($3), you’ll spend $7. At Aldi for the same quantity of cards and toys, you’ll spend a total of $3.98 ($1.99 x 2).
