Aching to save on your next DIY project? Lowe’s Spring Black Friday, running April 8 – 21, will hold you over until November rolls around. Unlike Home Depot, Lowe’s still held their spring event in 2020, which means we’ve got a great blueprint on how to save big.
For 2021, Lowe’s looks to be rebranding their spring event to SpringFest since they’ve carried over a lot of the main Spring Black Friday deals.
Tools, mulch, paint, appliances – it’s all here! Let’s look at everything you gotta know about Lowe’s Black Friday sale.

1. Enjoy around 40% off Lowe’s Spring Black Friday appliances.
The best appliance Lowe’s had for 2020 Spring Black Friday was the Whirlpool 51-Decibel Dishwasher (reg. $699) for just $429.
Here are some other deals I saw:
2. Stock up on soil and mulch for up to 53% off.
Get to work on that garden early during Spring Black Friday. In 2020, Lowe’s had Premium mulch marked down at 45% off and Miracle Gro soil at 53% off.
3. Upgrade your grill for 35% off.
Lowe’s Spring Black Friday is a great time to upgrade your BBQ setup for summertime. In 2020, they sold the Char-Broil Performance Grill (reg. $249) for just $159.
They’ve offered this deal a few years in a row, so don’t expect it to go anywhere anytime soon.
4. Take advantage of paint rebates for $10–40 back.
Lowe’s has offered paint rebates the past few years on Spring Black Friday, like $10 back on 1-gallon cans and $40 back on 5-gallon paints, coatings, and stains. Outside of this, they’ll typically knock a dollar or two off some of their paint brands.
5. Refresh your tool shed during Lowe’s Spring Black Friday.
Spring Black Friday is a good time to grab some new Lowe’s tools. Here are a few deals I saw last year:
- Craftsman 150-Piece Toolset for $149 (reg. $199)
- Craftsman Power Tool Combo Kit for $119 (reg. $149)
6. Pick up household essentials like laundry detergent and garbage bags.
During Lowe’s Spring Black Friday in 2020, they had great two-day deals on everyday items like Tide laundry detergent ($2, reg. $4.98) and Glad Forceflex garbage bags ($9.98, reg. $15.98).
7. Pick up annuals for a fraction of the price.
In 2020, Lowe’s was selling annuals for just $0.88 instead of the regular $2.48. You can’t argue with 65% savings when you’re trying to brighten up your garden for spring.
These are usually two-day deals, so stay on top of all the Lowe’s deals so you don’t miss out.
8. Fix up your lawn for 50% off.
If your lawn didn’t survive the wintertime, use Lowe’s Spring Black Friday as an opportunity to revive it. Last year, they had 50% off different types of Scotts Lawn Repair Mix.
9. Take advantage of Lowe’s price match policy.
Didn’t find the deal you were looking for during Spring Black Friday? Lowe’s price matches tons of competitors, including:
- Home Depot
- Ace Hardware
- Best Buy
Just show proof of the lower price (a local ad or smartphone browser image) and they’ll match an identical item.
10. Return all your dead trees, shrubs, and perennials within a year.
Did the plants you got from Spring Black Friday meet a tragic end? Lowe’s plant policy eases the pain — you’ve got a year to return any shrub, perennial, or tree that’s died. For any other plant, you’ve got 90 days.
