McDonald’s is bringing back its Monopoly Game in the U.S., giving customers another shot at prizes that range from free food to $1 million in cash. According to McDonald’s that over 640 million game pieces will be available with 1 in 5 overall odds of winning an Instant Win Prize, which are mostly food prizes.

The game launches Oct. 6 and runs through Nov. 1. This time, you can choose whether to go the classic route and order food in-store, or the digital route and order food in the app, but whichever way you go, you'll score some great McDonald's deals. 

To participate, customers need to order specific menu items (like large fries, Egg McMuffins, or Quarter Pounders) and earn game pieces with properties or instant prizes. Players can also enter a Bonus Play in the app for a second chance at prizes.

You can also play McDonald's Monopoly without spending a single cent. That whole "No Purchase Necessary" is a real thing. Use the alternate method of entry for a chance to win free food without spending anything.

• Customers must be McDonald's Rewards members who are 18 years or older and residents of the 50 U.S. or D.C. You have to register for the game in the McDonald's app.

When it comes to the prizes, there’s no advantage to ordering food in-store versus in the app; you can do what’s most convenient for you. However, if you go the in-store route, you'll need to scan the physical game piece into the McDonald’s app, so you need the app to play the 2026 edition of McDonald’s Monopoly. 

How to Play McDonald's Monopoly

In-Store Play:

1. Buy eligible menu items (e.g., large fries, Egg McMuffin).

2. Peel the physical game piece from packaging.

3. Scan the code in the McDonald’s app to reveal your prize or add a property to your collection.

4. Play Bonus Play in the app for a second chance to win.

Digital Play (Via App):

1. Download the McDonald’s app and register for the game.

2. Order eligible menu items through the app or by using your Rewards code.

3. Receive a digital game piece in the app.

4. “Peel” the digital piece to reveal an instant prize or property.

5. Play Bonus Play in the app for another chance to win.

Alternate Method of Entry (Free Play):

1. To enter the Monoply Game without a purchase, requires you to mail in a request for one game piece.

2. Mail a self-addressed envelope with first-class postage inside a postage-paid, outer envelope to 2026 Monopoly Game at McDonald’s PO Box 4006, Dept S9851, Grand Rapids, MN 55730-4006. If you're a Vermont resident you don't have to have return postage.

3. Your request by be received by Nov. 2, 2026.
