Fortunately, the Silver Sneakers program includes a lot of different fitness options tailored to meet the needs of older adults. To find out if your Medicare Advantage plan covers Silver Sneakers, check your plan documents or contact your plan provider directly. Many plans do offer it, but it’s always best to double-check.
You can also visit the Silver Sneakers website and use their eligibility checker tool to see if your plan is eligible. All you have to do is enter your zip code and select your plan type. Then answer a few basic questions about your Medicare coverage. The tool will let you know if your plan covers Silver Sneakers. It will also provide you with a list of participating fitness locations in your area.
Those without a qualifying plan can join for $15-50 per month.
If your Medicare Advantage plan doesn’t cover the program, you can still enroll in the program directly. You’ll just pay a monthly fee to participate. The cost of the program can vary depending on where you live. And the fitness locations you choose to attend may also affect the cost. Generally, though, it ranges from $15 to $50 per month.
This fee gives you access to all of the Silver Sneakers classes and activities at participating fitness locations. Plus, you’ll have access to the Silver Sneakers FLEX program. What’s cool about FLEX is that it allows you to attend classes at community centers and other nontraditional fitness locations.

Silver Sneakers is available in most states across the U.S. The program has a wide network of participating fitness locations, including gyms, community centers, and YMCAs, so there’s a good chance that there are options available near you.
