Though Play-doh has become a staple for mothers of young children, you’ll rarely find a good deal on it. That’s where Jell-doh comes in! This recipe is cheap and comes in a wide variety of colors and smells fantastic! You probably have these ingredients on hand:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 cup water
- 1 package Jell-O (3 1/2 oz)
Combine all ingredients in a pot. Cook on stovetop on medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture is thick like mashed potatoes. Allow it to cool, then knead with a sprinkling of flour until it is dry to the touch. Store in an airtight container when not in use.
Grocery trips are about to get a lot more interesting–get a kick out of your children explaining the concept of Jell-doh to the cashier when they ask why you have so much gelatin in your cart!
