Have you heard? The beloved CVS loyalty program known as CVS Beauty Club has officially been retired. As of Jan. 1, 2023, the ExtraCare BeautyClub is no longer a thing, but that doesn’t mean you can’t continue to save. The CVS Beauty Club is now a perk within your CVS ExtraCare membership, and we dug into exactly what that means for your wallet.

But what if I had a free beauty gift for December 2022?

If you earned your free beauty gift in December with CVS Beauty Club, you have until Jan. 28, 2023, to redeem it.

Here are the free December gifts from 2022:

1. Join CVS ExtraCare to continue getting CVS Beauty Club-style deals.

Although there isn’t an actual CVS Beauty Club anymore, that doesn’t mean you can’t still save on beauty goodies. CVS Beauty Club is now just part of your ExtraCare membership. Since the CVS ExtraCare membership tailors coupons to your shopping, it’ll learn that you love beauty products. Then the magic coupon kiosk at CVS will spit you out awesome beauty coupons!

2. Stack ExtraBucks Rewards, coupons, and sales to save on beauty products.

It wouldn’t be a Krazy Coupon Lady deal if we weren’t using coupons! Stacking coupons at CVS is the key to becoming an expert CVS couponer.

Coupons won’t count against your ExtraCare threshold because CVS lets you earn rewards based on the cost of the product — not how much you pay for it. So if you get $30 worth of products but only spend $20 after coupons are applied, you’ll still earn your ExtraBucks on the $30 purchase amount.

Since you can shop throughout the month, you can pick and choose the best CVS deals.

3. Get $3 ExtraBucks on your birthday.

Once you set up your CVS account, make sure you add in your birthday. You’ll receive $3 in ExtraBucks as a special treat.

4. Use all CVS ExtraBucks before they expire — within 30 days.

You have about a month to use your rewards, and most CVS locations won’t take expired coupons. You have to pay attention to the dates printed on ExtraBucks or listed in the CVS app. Some stores will take them if they are just a day or two expired, but that’s not official policy. Be extra nice to the cashier if you’re trying to use your ExtraBucks a day late.

5. ExtraBucks and free gifts can only be used with the same account they were earned on.

As nice as it seems, you can’t hand ExtraBucks or your free gift offer over to a friend to use unless they are using your rewards account attached to your phone number or CVS ExtraCare card.

6. Only hit 98% of the threshold to earn ExtraBucks.

If you see an offer that says, “Get $5 in ExtraBucks when you spend $20,” you only have to spend $19.60, or 98% of $20, to earn the $5 reward.

If that sounds confusing, check out our detailed guide to the CVS 98% rule and how we use it all the time!

7. Save on beauty products with manufacturer coupons.

Between the sales and ExtraBucks offers — you can still totally save on beauty products at CVS. Don’t forget to look for makeup coupons before you shop.
