Which Pokemon Squishmallows are in the 2023 release?

In 2023 there were four waves of Pokemon Squishmallows that came out. We’re on the fourth wave now.

First Wave: Pikachu & Gengar

The first wave included Pikachu and Gengar — which have already hit the shelves at Walmart, Target, and now CVS. They are available in sizes as small as 10 inches and as large as 20 inches, and retail prices start at $19.99.

Second Wave: Togepi & Snorlax

The second wave of Pokemon Squishmallows includes Togepi and Snorlax, which arrived in stores the first weekend of April. These two are hot! Amazon and other retailers already show them out of stock online. We suggest you check for in-store availability at your local Target or Walmart. The most recent releases are 14 inches tall.

Third Wave: Piplup & Winking Pikachu

The third wave consists of Piplup and a winking version of Pikachu. We’ve already found Winking Pikachu at the Pokemon Center. And now, we’re seeing Piplup Squishmallows at Target. Remember, you can save 5% on your purchase if you use your RedCard.

Fourth Wave: Teddiursa & Clefairy

The fourth wave includes Teddiursa and Clefairy. It was released in late November, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

Which stores carry Pokemon Squishmallows?

Exclusive Pokemon Squishmallows come and go online at, but they sell out fast. Similarly, you could find Pikachu and Gengar available at Claire’s and Best Buy but they’re currently sold out. GameStop, Target, and Walmart all have them in stock. We’ve even spotted some at Hy-Vee and CVS. The sizes will be exclusive for each store.

If you’re purchasing from the Pokemon Center, the Squishmallow will have a special patch on its back that features a Poke Ball.

Amazon availability pops up and sells out quickly.

Amazon used to sell the 14-inch Pikachu for $24.99. However, currently, I can only find options from $51.90. Similarly, you used to be able to get Snorlax from Amazon for $24.99. It seems that increased demand during the holiday season led to a big price hike. I don’t recommend purchasing these on Amazon unless they’re at the $24.99 price point.

GameStop has the winking Pikachu in stock, but it’s not on sale.

GameStop still has the 10-inch ($14.99), 14-inch ($24.99), and 20-inch ($44.99) Pokemon Squishmallows in stock.

During Black Friday 2023, shoppers took advantage of a special buy two get one free promo on any size Squish. And, if you bought it online and picked it up in-store, you could get another $5 off. This also stacked with the 5% GameStop Pro member discount. Once you added all the promotions together, you could get three Squishmallows for as low as $23.41. We hope to see a similar promotion during Black Friday 2024.
