Since Squishmallows basically broke TikTok in 2020, everyone and their mom had to get one. I’m not kidding — after my mom cuddled up on my couch with a Squishmallow, it was on her Christmas list. They’re just so stinkin’ soft and cozy. If you’re looking for some of the best gifts under $25 to give, Christmas Squishmallows are it. Extra points if you find rare Squishmallows, like those from the holiday Squishmallow releases or hit movies like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
So far in 2023 we’ve found a few new winter and Christmas Squishes on shelves already, including Ginger the Gingerbread Latte, Gracelynn The White Fox, and Farryn The Purple Fawn. And, you can save up to 25% on Target Squishes for a limited time — more on that below.

Walmart has Hershey Kiss Christmas Squishmallow plushes for just $19.98 now.
Target has Christmas Squishmallow ornaments for $7 each.

We found these $7 ornaments in-store at Target on a weekend in early Nov. 2023. You can also purchase them online and save 5% if you use your Target RedCard. Since these aren’t technically toys, you can’t use the Target Toy coupon on these.
Where can you find Christmas Squishmallows?

Your best bet is Walmart and Target. Check first online and select store pickup if inventory allows. If you’re browsing in-store, look in both the holiday and toy sections; we’ve seen seasonal Squishmallows in both places. We’ve also seen Squishmallows in-store at Costco during October-December.
If you’re shopping online, there are a bunch of holiday Squishmallows on Amazon. The catch? They’re sold by third-party sellers who’ll usually try to jack up the prices on holiday releases. We get it, though, Squishmallows are hard to get your hands on. I recommend avoiding third-party sellers and making sure the Squishmallows say “Sold and shipped by Amazon” on the product listing.

When do Christmas Squishmallows come out?

Some new designs have already been released. We’ve seen some pop up in-store at Target and Costco, plus online at Walmart and Amazon. However, it’s still a bit early. We expect more to come soon.
Last year, Christmas Squishmallows started popping up at retailers at the beginning of October. Five Below quietly added 12 new 4.5-inch Christmas Squishmallows to their website that are online exclusives. They retailed for $4.50 and have a limit of two of each per order. If a Squishmallow is online only, you can’t choose in-store pickup. You could also find Squishmallow merch at Five Below like Squishville collectibles.
Walgreens, Cracker Barrel, and Costco also started putting out their holiday Squishmallows in stores fairly early. But depending on your location, you might still see more Halloween varieties out instead of Christmas offerings. If you can’t find what you want, Walmart.com may have some selections sold by third-party sellers, such as the $20 winter-themed Squishmallows we saw in October 2022.
On Nov. 16, Aldi released the holiday Squishmallows with their Aldi Finds ad. They had 12-inch Squishmallows for $9.99.
Five Below started to release Christmas- and holiday-themed Squishmallows with their Black Friday ad. There was another Squishmallow drop on Nov. 27, 2022, at Five Below with even more Holiday Squishmallows.

What kind of Christmas Squishmallows are there?

Certain Holiday Squishmallows come back year after year, like the whole Rudolph squad (Rudolph, Clarice, Abominable Snowman, Elves, Santa, Fawn, etc). All Christmas collection Squishmallows feature a special bio tag that you won’t find on regular Squishmallows. What’s a bio tag? It has the Squishmallow’s name, “Squishdate”, story, personality, what it likes to do for fun, and more. For Christmas Squishmallows sold prior to 2022, they’ll have a silver tag with snowflakes. For those sold in 2022 and beyond, expect a green tag with snowflakes.
Holiday Squishmallows come in 3.5-inch clips, 4-inch ornaments, and plushes 5-inch all the way up to 24 inches. You can also get Christmas Squishmallows in capsules or slippers. Some even come as Flip-a-Mallows, which are Squishmallows that flip inside themselves to become another character.
Pro tip: if you need a gift under $5, Squishmallows clips start at just $4.99. And in addition to individual Squishmallows, retailers like Walgreens and Costco offer Christmas multipacks. Some stores, like Amazon, offer exclusive rare Christmas Squishmallows too.
