Prime Day Gift Card Deals to Look Forward to in 2024

Every July we look forward to the Prime Day gift card deals because these deals rival some of the biggest savings events of the year like Amazon Cyber Monday and Amazon Black Friday. In fact, Prime Day is actually one of the rare times you’ll find discounted gift cards from your favorite stores and restaurants.

While the official Prime Day gift card deals haven’t been released just yet, there are plenty of deals that make a comeback year after year. For example, the 20% discount on Bath & Body Works gift cards makes a reappearance for July Prime Day, October Prime Day, Black Friday, and the 15 Days of Gift Card Deals event. That said, looking at the savings we saw in 2023 is a pretty good way to predict what we’ll see in 2024.

We Saw These Gift Card Deals in 2023

Here are the Amazon gift card deals we saw during 2023 Prime Day and the 15 Days of Gift Card Deals sale. We saw insane savings on gift cards for brands like DoorDash, H&M, and so many more. You could even earn Amazon promo credits with some purchases!

We noticed that some offerings, like 20% off Panera gift card or IHOP, expired at the end of the first day of the sale, so keep that in mind for next year. And many of these discounts were also Amazon Lightning Deals so they sold out fast. Here are some highlights of what we saw in past sales:

How do Amazon gift card deals work?

You’ll find a promo code on the Amazon product listing under the price, which you enter at checkout. Amazon will ask you for an email address to send the gift card to, which receives the gift card instantly after purchase. Note that there’s a limit to how many you can buy on a discount, with the promo code being valid only for one use.

Here’s what you’ll do to claim these gift cards:

1. Go to the Gift Card Deals homepage.
2. Add one or more gift cards of the same brand totaling the qualifying purchase amount to your cart in one order.
3. Enter the promotion code listed on the product page at checkout. Promotional codes are found in the “Special offers and product promotions” section of the product page.
4. There is a limit of one deal per brand.
5. When your credit is ready, you’ll receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of your order.
6. The credit will automatically apply to your next eligible purchase during checkout. It is not part of your gift card balance.

Amazon rarely offers discounts on gift cards. In fact, we’ve only seen them offer deals on Prime Day and Black Friday. And from what we’ve seen, the deals are pretty much the same during both events.

Note that while many came in the form of Lightning Deals, other gift cards stayed around for days (starting from Black Friday and running until Cyber Monday).

We also saw a 20% off $50 Bath & Body Works gift card deal on Nov. 20, but this deal sold out within the hour. The Krispy Kreme deal went live on the same day but lasted several hours. On Black Friday, we saw several deals including discounts on Bath & Body Works gift cards and Domino’s — which also lasted a couple of hours respectively. So it all depends on luck, speed, and quantity!

 

15 Days of Gift Card Deals Offers We Hope to See in 2024

If you procrastinate your holiday shopping, you’re probably gonna want some cheap gift cards. However, finding a good deal on gift cards that your loved ones will actually use can be difficult. Especially if you missed the deals on Black Friday or Prime Day. But luckily, Amazon tends to run a sales event called 15 Days of Gift Card Deals. In 2023, it ran from Dec. 7 – 21. We predict similar dates in 2024, with the event starting about two weeks before the Winter Solstice. Here’s what we saw in 2023:

Shopping and Retail

Shoppers got 20% off gift cards to popular stores like Bath & Body Works, Gap, and Victoria’s Secret. We also saw 15% off Foot Locker gift cards and 10% off a $100 Apple gift card. You could either get a cheaper price on the gift card or earn some free Amazon credits.

Dining

Foodies were eating well with these deals. You could save between 10% – 20% on multi-brand gift cards or a whopping 21% on IHOP gift cards.

Entertainment

For shoppers hoping to beat cabin fever, gift cards to places like Pinstripes, Main Event, and Chuck E. Cheese were 15% off. More indoorsy folks saw gift cards for streaming services like Hulu, Vudu, and GolfNow discounted by as much as 20%.

Travel and Experiences

Deal hunters on the go saved up to 15% on Lyft and Uber gift cards. And for farther getaways, you could even save 10% on Airbnb gift cards and 20% on a Virgin Experience eGift Card.
