The most-hyped Prime Day deals tend to be tech favorites like Apple products, Dyson deals, Amazon Echo devices, and the legendary Lightning Deals. But whenever Prime Day rolls around, we see plenty of savings on the practical side as well — like Amazon grocery deals to help you fill your cupboards with discounted essentials.

For Prime Day 2024, Amazon took up to 50% off select groceries and more. We expect similar savings in October, when Amazon will likely hold its next Prime-members-only shopping event. We predict it will kick off Oct. 8.

Read on to see the best Prime Day grocery deals we saw during the most recent Prime Day. Also be sure to check out all of our best Amazon Prime Day shopping tips to help you shop smart when Prime Day returns in October.

Big Tip: You can still get a $200 Amazon gift card when you’re approved for the Amazon Prime Visa Card by July 31, 2024. You’ll get a decision in 15 seconds and can take that credit shopping (for groceries, or anything else, on Amazon).

During Prime Day 2024, Amazon’s new grocery subscription was free for 3 months.

Amazon recently launched a new paid grocery delivery subscription with free delivery on grocery orders of $35 or more from Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh and other local stores.

The subscription normally costs $9.99 per month. But you could try it for free, thanks to July's Prime Day event. Prime members who signed up got a free subscription for three months. You needed to be a Prime member (as well as a new user of the grocery subscription service) to get the deal.

This subscription model could save you money if you frequently place smaller grocery orders. Normally, Prime members have to pay a $9.95 delivery fee for grocery orders under $50, or a $6.95 fee for orders between $50 and $100. To unlock free grocery delivery, you need to place an order of at least $100. If your household places more than two grocery orders a month under $100 each, this delivery subscription would save you money.

Even though the 3-month free trial offer has ended, you can still get a 30-day free trial:

To get this deal:

  1. Log in to your Amazon Prime account.

  2. Go to Amazon’s grocery delivery subscription page.

  3. Hit the “Start Your Free Trial” button.

  4. Remember that you’ll start getting charged $9.99 per month after your free trial ends. Go to your “Subscription Management” page in your Amazon account to cancel if you don’t want to keep the subscription.

The best restock-worthy Prime Day grocery deals we saw in 2024

We saw plenty of restock-worthy bargains on snacks, paper towels, and more. It’s worth noting that many of the deals listed below were due to the 5% or 15% off Subscribe & Save discount. But, as always, you could cancel the subscription immediately after your first delivery and still score the discount.

These were the most popular Prime Day deals on groceries we saw in July 2024.

Amazon Fresh also offered up to 50% off select items from its own brands for delivery on Prime Day. We found plenty of deals on other brands and nonperishables too, like cereal, canned food, pasta, granola bars, and bottled beverages

And keep in mind that some Prime deals offered even deeper discounts with Subscribe & Save. If you aren’t familiar with the program, Subscribe & Save lets you save up to 15% on items you order frequently.
