At 15% off, the lululemon military discount is one of the best around. While it’s expansive in professions that qualify — first responders can get in on the action, too — it doesn’t include military dependents, unless you’re currently active duty. Which might be a bummer for the spouse and kids. Luckily, we’ve got a work-around for you if you read on.

Here are the ins and outs of the lululemon military discount. Make sure to download The Krazy Coupon Lady app today to make sure you never miss a deal from lululemon or hundreds of other retailers.

lululemon military discount is 15% off regular-price or sale items.

lululemon offers a military discount of 15% off. You can use it on most items, but lululemon does reserve the right to restrict any item at their own discretion.

That means that in rare circumstances, you might see one specific item that’s not eligible. There are no hard-and-fast rules about which items or item categories will be ineligible.

First responders are also eligible.

You can qualify for the military discount if you’re active duty, a reservist, a veteran, or a military retiree.

But lululemon also extends their military discount to first responders. Be sure to claim your 15% off if you’re a:

  • Firefighter
  • Nurse
  • Doctor
  • EMT
  • Search and rescue professional
  • Law enforcement officer

Only active-duty dependents qualify for lululemon’s military discount.

While the lululemon military discount is quite expansive in terms of the service members and professionals that are eligible, it’s restrictive compared to other programs if you’re a military spouse, child, or other dependent.

You only qualify for the military discount if you’re the dependent of an active-duty service member.

TIP: Spouse of a veteran? If you’re managing your money together anyways, you could always ask your spouse to make the purchase for you with their lululemon account. That way your household will still get the 15% off even if you, as an individual, don’t technically qualify.

Verify your eligibility through SheerID.

To sign up for the military and first responder discount, first you’ll need to sign in to your lululemon account. Then you’ll be asked to verify your identity through lululemon’s partner: SheerID.

Military members and active duty dependents will need to submit documentation to SheerID that proves the following:

  • Full name
  • Branch of service
  • Current military affiliation
  • Discharge date if you’re not active duty

First responders will need to submit documentation that proves your:

  • Full name
  • Current place of employment
  • Position with your employer that qualifies you for the discount

Any documentation you submit to prove these pieces of data will be deleted once SheerID verifies your identity. If there’s any private yet not relevant information on the documents, you can black that info out to keep it confidential before submitting it to SheerID.

You can claim the lululemon military discount online or in store.

You can claim the lululemon military discount whether you’re shopping online or in store. To claim the discount online, make sure you’re signed into your lululemon account — the same one you used to verify your identity with SheerID.

Then before you check out, make sure you have the “15% off” option toggled to “On.” Otherwise, your military discount won’t be applied.

If you’re shopping in store, claiming the discount is as easy as presenting a valid ID at checkout. Be sure to ask for the discount, and make sure you’ve verified your lululemon account with SheerID before you head to the store.

You can’t stack the discount with other promos or coupons.

Bummer! I know. But you can’t stack the lululemon military discount with any promo codes or coupons. You also can’t use it on gift cards or on the lululemon Like New website.

So be sure to do the math before checkout. In some cases, 15% off might be better than your coupon. In other cases, a promo code may save you more money than the military discount.

TIP: Here are some of the smartest ways to save at lululemon.

lululemon’s military discount is one of the best in the industry.

Fifteen percent off isn’t bad for a military discount! Especially when you hold it up against the competition.

lululemon’s biggest competitor — Athleta — doesn’t have an explicit military discount policy. But as a Gap-owned company, individual store managers may give you a 10% discount at the cash register if you ask. It’s up to the manager, though, and if you’re shopping online, you’re SOL.

Even out of athletic wear companies that do offer a consistent, company-wide military discount, lululemon’s percentage off is one of the highest around. Even Nike only offers 10% off. As long as you’re not buying Air Jordans or another Nike exclusive, lululemon’s likely to hook you up with the better deal at 15% off.

TIP: Looking to save money at Athleta? You might not get a military discount, but if you shop at the right time of year, you could get up to 75% off via the Athleta warehouse sale.
