Aaaah, Independence Day…a time for grilling, fireworks, and deal hunting. Macy’s 4th of July sale is an annual event for the department retailer, and in 2023 it kicked off on June 28, ending on July 4. There were markdowns on kids apparel, plus-size clothing, swimwear, towels, and more. If there’s a department for it at Macy’s, you’re bound to find good deals across all categories.
During this sale, savings are typically between 20 – 60% off. However, in 2023 you could score an additional 20% off select sale and clearance items with promo code FOURTH. Other items only reaped an extra 10% or 15% discount. We predict Macy’s will come through with a similar promo code to use during the 2024 sale.
Plus, Macy’s Star Rewards members got $10 in Star Money (that’s an extra 1,000 points) for every $50 they spent with a Macy’s Card OR for every $100 spent as a Bronze member during Star Money Bonus Days. That offer ended on July 4, the very same day Macy’s 4th of July sale ended in 2023. Because the retailer also does a Macy’s Black Friday in July sale, we do anticipate the dates for their Fourth of July event will be similar in 2024, ending on Independence Day itself.

The Best 2023 Macy’s 4th of July Sale Deals
We don’t love playing favorites but we’d be remiss not to share some of our favorite finds from Macy’s 4th of July sale in 2023 to get you excited for the 2024 sale. So let’s get to it.
Kids
Summer kids separates were marked down as low as $4.99, 50% off their original price tag of $10 each. They also had hooded hooded character towels (Minnie! Spider! Baby Yoda!) for as little as $10.63 a piece when you used that FOURTH promo code.
Plus-Size Apparel
If you like Karen Scott clothing, this was the time to stock up. Macy’s had tops and shorts for as low as $9.99, making it 33% off regular prices which start at $14.99.
Swim
Dudes in need of swim trunks could have scooped up Club Room styles for a whopping 67% off. Prices were marked down from $45 to $14.99.
Homewares
Perhaps the pièce de résistance in this department was a 13-piece Tools of the Trade cookware set for $34.99, a 71% drop from its regular price of $119.99. Then were were extras like a tabletop s’mores maker for $27.99 (reg. $69.99) and a Bon Voyage travel weighted blanket as low as $25.20 (reg. price $72).
