While some of you are focused on Halloween already, you might be missing out on a lesser-known but important food holiday: National Taco Day.

National Taco Day is Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, bringing with it the promise of free and cheap tacos. And let’s face it, we could all use some free tacos — with extra guac and probably a marg (or three) too.

On this, the most epic of Taco Tuesdays, we’ve collected the best National Taco Day freebies and deals, available coast to coast.

When is National Taco Day?

National Taco Day takes place every year on Oct. 4. But in 2022, it’s especially epic because for the first time since 2016, National Taco Day is on a Taco Tuesday. Buckle up.


Taco Bell: Get a $10 Taco Lovers Pass for 30 days of discounted tacos starting on Oct. 4.

Taco lovers can celebrate National Taco Day by getting a Taco Lovers Pass from Taco Bell. That’ll get you a taco every day for 30 days. That means celebrating with tacos all month long.

This deal is only available through the Taco Bell Rewards app that’ll unlock on Oct. 4.

You’ll have your choice between these tacos:

  • Crunchy Taco (reg. $1.69)
  • Crunchy Taco Supreme (reg. $2.69)
  • Soft Taco (reg. $1.69)
  • Soft Taco Supreme (reg. $2.69)
  • Spicy Potato Soft Taco (reg. $1.29)
  • Doritos Locos Tacos (reg. $2.69)
  • Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme (reg. $3.29)

To make the $10 pass worth it, you only have to order four Doritos Locos Tacos Supremes or eight Spicy Potato Soft Tacos within the 30 days.

Of course, this is just one of the ways you can celebrate Taco Bell Happy Hour, every hour.


7-Eleven: Buy 10 mini tacos for $2 on National Taco Day.

Stop by 7-Eleven to get 10 mini tacos (regularly $2.20) for $2. You’ll need to be a 7-Eleven Rewards member to get this deal, and not every 7-Eleven is participating in the deal, so make sure to check your local 7-Eleven to get this 9% discount.

It’s not our favorite 7-Eleven discount, but not everything can be as good as Free Slurpee Day.


California Tortilla: Buy anything on Taco Day, get a free taco coupon for Oct. 5 – 11.

When you make a purchase at California Tortilla on Taco Day (Oct. 4), you’ll get a coupon for a free taco (regularly $3.69) for a future purchase between Oct. 5 – 11. This will be available in person only.

You can get up to five coupons per person, but it’s only available at participating locations. Make sure to check your local California Tortilla to see if it’s available near you.


Chevys Fresh Mex: Build your own tacos for $3 each every Tuesday (including Taco Day).

You can celebrate National Taco Day every Tuesday at Chevys Fresh Mex by taking advantage of their build-your-own-taco bar ($3/taco). It starts at 3 p.m. and lasts till close. You can get barbacoa, steak, chicken, or carnitas on a flour tortilla.

Tacos at Chevys Fresh Mex usually cost $7 each, so you’ll be saving 57.1% on your tacos.


Chronic Tacos: Get $1 off tacos on National Taco Day.

On National Taco Day, Oct. 4, Chronic Tacos is offering all their customers $1 off their taco (regularly $3.25) purchases.

Plus, if you’re enrolled in their loyalty program, you’ll automatically be entered into a raffle to get free tacos for a year. The winner will be announced on Oct. 5.



Chuy’s: Add a $1 Crispy Beef Taco to any entree on Taco Day.

Chuy’s is celebrating Taco Day by letting customers add a $1 crispy beef taco to any entree.

And that’s not the only deal you can get on Oct. 4. If you dress like a taco and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #ChuysTacoDay, you can get a free entree of your choice at Chuy’s. Just show them your photos and you’ll get your free entree.


Fuzzy’s Taco Shop: Select tacos are $1.50 on Taco Day.

On Oct. 4, you can get tacos from Fuzzy’s Taco Shop for $1.50. These tacos usually cost $2.79, so you’ll be getting a 46.2% discount. You can get this discount online and in person.

Go ahead and map your nearest Fuzzy’s Taco Shop before the big day.


On the Border: Get $2 classic or $4 premium tacos on National Taco Day.

On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina restaurant, home to some national taco day deals

When you visit On the Border on Oct. 4, you’ll get classic tacos (beef, chicken, fish) for only $2 each (normally priced at $5.50 each) and premium tacos (shrimp, al pastor, al carbon) for only $4 each (normally $6 each).

This deal is only available in person and cannot be redeemed online.


Taco Del Mar: Get 30 days of tacos with a Taco Golden Ticket, available starting on Oct. 4.

Taco Del Mar is extending National Taco Day to National Taco Month with their Taco Golden Ticket Promotion. Each location will sell 25 tickets for $12, and if you purchase one, you’ll get a taco every day for 30 days.

Each taco usually costs $2.50, so you’ll have to use it at least five times to pay for the price of the ticket. Here are the four tacos that you can redeem with your Taco Golden Ticket:

  • Rippin’ Fish taco
  • braised chicken
  • pulled pork carnitas
  • seasoned ground beef tacos


Taco John’s: Receive a free Beef Taco Bravo with any purchase on Taco Day.

Taco John’s Rewards members will get a coupon sent to their rewards account on National Taco Day for a free Beef Taco Bravo (regularly $2.49) with any purchase.

You can redeem this code online or in person with a QR code attached to the coupon.



National Taco Day 2022: We Found the Best Free & Cheap Tacos
