Target will kick off their holiday shopping season earlier than ever with the launch of Target Deal Days, which they just announced will take place Oct. 10 – 12.

During previous Deal Days prices on air fryers, Chromebooks, and small kitchen appliances dropped 40 – 56%, and thanks to Target’s holiday price matching policy, anything bought during this sale will be discounted to match the lowest holiday prices.

Here’s what you need to know about Target Deal Days.

Before you get shopping, download the KCL app and bookmark our Target Black Friday page so you never miss a deal.

1. Target Deal Days kicks off Oct. 10 – 12.

Target’s 2021 Deal Days event will kick off Oct. 10 and end Oct. 12, during which Target will be offering hundreds of thousands of deals in store and on Target.com.

And unlike Prime Day, you won’t need a membership to take advantage.

2. Get Black Friday savings later using Target Price Adjusting.

Target is extending their holiday price adjusting to start as soon as Deal Days begin. That means you can use this sale to knock off your Target Black Friday list, and Target will adjust any lower price they slap on one of their products through Dec. 24 by giving you back the difference.

Although Target’s Black Friday and Deal Days have offered identical savings on items like Keurig coffee makers, we’ve seen small Hamilton Beach appliances go for 20% less during Black Friday than they do during Deal Days.

Buy 1 Hamilton Beach 6-Speed Hand Mixer with Case (reg. $22.99) $15, sale price during Deal Days
Use RedCard for 5% off
Use RedCard for free shipping on orders of $35+
Or free store pickup or “Drive Up”
Final Price: $14.25
Compare to Target’s Black Friday price of $9.50 with your RedCard

If you don’t have a Target account, you’ll need to save your receipt and bring it in when you go to get your price adjustment from a cashier. If you do have an account, simply pull up your order history on your phone, and the cashier will refund the difference back to you.

3. But Target will still only price match their competitors within 14 days of your purchase.

This is the problem with starting your holiday shopping well before any other store is launching their biggest sales: By November, you won’t be able to price match competitor prices to your Deal Days purchases.

That’s why you should keep your Deal Days shopping to items you already know you’ll be looking for only at Target. Some of our favorite Target Black Friday items include Beats headphones or KitchenAid mixers, the latter of which were 56% off during Black Friday 2020.

Buy 1 KitchenAid Mixer 5-Quart Stand Mixer (reg. $449.99) $199.99
Use RedCard for 5% off
Use RedCard for free shipping on orders of $35+
Or free store pickup or “Drive Up”
Final Price: $189.99

Target will generally price match for the following online competitors:

  • Amazon.com
  • BedBathandBeyond.com
  • Bestbuy.com
  • Barnesandnoble.com
  • Buybuybaby.com
  • Costco.com
  • CVS.com
  • Diapers.com
  • DicksSportingGoods.com
  • Gamestop.com
  • JCPenney.com
  • Kmart.com
  • Kohls.com
  • Macys.com
  • Newegg.com
  • OfficeDepot.com
  • Petco.com
  • Petsmart.com
  • SamsClub.com
  • Sears.com
  • Staples.com
  • Ulta.com

4. Grab a gift card for $10 off right before Deal Days.

Check Target’s Weekly Ad right before Deal Days start and see if there are any gift-card promos on items you’re already planning to buy. Most are pretty simple, like “Buy 3 Tide products, get a $10 gift card.”

The best one we’ve ever seen? In December 2020 Target offered a $350 gift card for anyone who bought a new iPhone 11.

5. Use Target RedCard for an additional 5% off everything during Deal Days.

Target’s RedCard lets you save 5% on almost everything — even Black Friday sales, clearance items, and most importantly, Deal Days.

We’ve stacked our RedCard discount on top of Deal Days discounts and bought a Keurig K-Slim Coffee Maker for $47.49 — that beat Amazon’s Prime Day price in 2021!

Buy 1 Keurig K-Slim Single-Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker – Black (reg. $109.99) $49.99, sale price
Use RedCard for 5% off
Free shipping or free store pickup
Final Price: $47.49
Compare at $49.99 on Amazon

You can grab a credit or debit version, but I definitely recommend the debit card. It connects to your checking account and works like your regular debit card, but only works at Target. Plus, you’ll get free two-day shipping on all your orders.

6. For the first time, you can shop Target Deal Days in store.

Previously, Deal Days had only been available through the Target app or on Target.com. Not this time. For Target’s October 2021 Deal Days, they’ll open up the event to all in-store shoppers.

7. Or spend $35 online and get free two-day shipping (Psst! Or use your RedCard).

Of course, there’s no need to fight the crowds during Deal Days. Target RedCard holders automatically enjoy free two-day shipping, and anyone else can get it if they spend more than $35.

Plus, you can grab your haul on the same day with Target Drive Up and Order Pickup.
