Walmart’s everyday low prices are pretty darn great on the regular. Even though their coupon policy no longer allows for overages, did you know there are still ways to get stuff for free at Walmart? And I don't just mean free shipping (though there are ways to get that too, using secret Walmart promo codes).
Getting Walmart freebies like free snacks, drinks, and makeup is totally possible when you combine current Walmart coupon deals with cash-back rebate offers. And getting things for free at Walmart beats cheap any day.
From rebates to gift cards, let’s take a look at how you can avoid inflation at the register with some free stuff at Walmart.

1. Redeem Aisle rebates on Walmart items for easy Walmart freebies.
Once you learn how Aisle rebates work, you can often get items like snacks, candy, soda, laundry detergent, and more for free at Walmart! And sometimes, we see Aisle rebate deals that are only redeemable at Walmart (like the ones below).
Just take a picture of your receipt and text it to Aisle, making sure that it shows the qualifying item on it, and within 24 - 48 hours, they'll deposit your earnings into your Venmo or PayPal account.
Here are the current Aisle rebate deals that you can redeem at Walmart right now:
2. Combine P&G coupons with Walmart prices for an instant freebie.
Sign up for the free P&G Good Everyday rewards program to print coupons at home that you can use for in-store savings at Walmart. By stacking these coupons with Walmart's low prices, you'll get freebies on items like makeup, dish soap, body wash, and hand soap.
I once found a deal at Walmart where Covergirl mascara was on clearance for $1, and I combined it with a $2 off Covergirl mascara coupon. The result was completely free mascara.
3. Claim Fetch Rewards offers to score snacks and other items for free at Walmart.
If you have the Fetch Rewards app, you'll sometimes see rebate offers for Walmart freebies. These offers vary and sometimes don't stick around long.
In the past, I've seen a Fetch offer good for a free bag of Chester's Hot Fries when you shopped in store and submitted a Fetch Rewards rebate through their app.
4. Earn free Walmart gift cards with Ibotta.
You can also earn Walmart gift cards with the Ibotta app when you buy specific products at certain stores, including at Walmart.
Once you've earned the minimum $20 required for a payout on the Ibotta app, you can receive your cash back in the form of a gift card to Walmart, Home Depot, Ulta, or other stores. This is definitely one of the easiest ways to score Walmart gift cards for basically free.
5. Get free gift cards when you trade in your old tech at Walmart.
Got any old tech devices laying around? The Walmart Trade-In program will give you free Walmart gift cards when you trade in devices like cellphones, tablets, laptops, voice speakers (Amazon Echo, Google Nest), game consoles, and wearables using their service.
6. Use Walmart's grocery pickup for free.
Using the Walmart grocery pickup service doesn't add any extra cost to your order. Just place an order of $35 or more online or through the Walmart app and select "Grocery Pickup" at checkout.
But since you can't use coupons with Walmart grocery pickup, you’re better off using a cash-back rebate app to save more. Walmart pickup orders won't give you a physical receipt, so you'll want to link your Ibotta and Walmart accounts to get your rebates automatically (no receipt required).
7. Get a free 30-day trial of Walmart Plus that includes free shipping (and more).
If you haven't yet tried out the Walmart Plus subscription service, you can get a free 30-day trial to decide if Walmart Plus is worth it for your household.
The service offers free shipping with no minimums (without Walmart Plus, you'd need to spend at least $35 to get free shipping), plus free delivery on orders over $35.
If you're not a fan, just cancel before the trial period wraps up.
8. Earn Walmart Cash and redeem it on future purchases.
Walmart Cash is a free-to-join cash-back program where you can earn money using manufacturer offers that range from $0.50 to $10 on select items. You can spend your earnings on future purchases (with no minimum for withdrawal), or cash out for U.S. dollars when you have a minimum of $25 in your Walmart Cash account.
9. Unlock Ibotta offers in November to get five free Thanksgiving dinner items.
For the last several years, Walmart has participated in the Ibotta Thanksgiving dinner offer to give you a free Thanksgiving meal each November. And we fully expect it to be back this year. The only catch is that you have to complete certain bonuses within the Ibotta app during the promotion to unlock your free offers.
Here's what you could get for free last year, after Ibotta rebates:
Turkey Roast
Idahoan Potatoes (4 oz)
McCormick Gravy Mix (0.87 oz)
Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix (8.5 oz)
Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce (14 oz)
10. Shop Walmart clearance for (almost) free stuff.
Ok, this one isn't free, free. But, it comes so close we had to include this one in our Walmart freebies list. If you're lucky enough to find Walmart clearance items that have a manufacturer coupon or rebate offer, you can stack them to get an even greater discount — almost free! (We can help teach you how to find Walmart hidden clearance too.)
For example, here are a couple of Walmart clearance deals I found in store that stacked with Ibotta rebates for big savings.
Aveeno Kids Sunscreen, $3.23 (reg. $11.97) — Pay $3.23, get $3 Ibotta rebate
Cetaphil Sun Face Sunscreen, $1.99 (reg. $7.97) — Pay $1.99, get $1.75 Ibotta rebate
