Summer is here! School is out and the kids are home – meaning you desperately need a few activities to keep them busy. Try making these colored pasta beads. They’re cheap and fun – what more could you ask for? Use them to help kids with their sorting skills, for craft projects or to make jewelry!

Materials Needed:

  • Any type of pasta
  • Food coloring
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Ziplock bag
  • Cookie sheet
  • Foil

  1. Put 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and 2-3 drops of food coloring into a plastic bag.
  2. Add one cup of pasta to the bag and mix until coated.
  3. Pour onto foil lined cookie sheet and let dry for a few hours.
  4. Use for jewelry, art projects, sorting and more!
Note: I found that the color looked a little light at first, but darkened when dry.
