Today my son decided to show off his creative abilities . . . all over my hardwood floors and freshly painted walls with a red permanent marker. I love that child, but I’ll admit to a split second when I considered boarding school.
I tried scrubbing the marker and bleaching it. I was about two seconds away from trying nail polish remover when my husband (a carpenter) called me off. He told me to just use rubbing alcohol. It couldn’t possibly be that simple, could it? It is!
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Cotton Balls
What to Do
- Apply rubbing alcohol to the cotton ball.
- Test the alcohol on a hidden section of the surface area.
- Allow the area to dry to ensure there is no damage to the section.
- Apply the treated cotton ball to the permanent marker and rub lightly.
- Freak out (It’s OK now).
So before you freak out and send your kids off to military school renovate your house, try this simple technique. It will save you tons of time, effort, and money!
