Aldi recently announced they're dropping prices on more than 400 items this summer (some by up to 33%), but I’ve got to be honest: I haven't seen those savings show up on many of the basics I count on.
Our team at The Krazy Coupon Lady recently launched the KCL Price Tracker, which helps us keep tabs on prices for over 100 grocery items. And according to the data we've collected, prices are indeed rising for things like ground beef, coffee, and canned goods — even at Aldi. And since Aldi doesn't offer (or accept) coupons, there's no quick fix to work around the cost increases.
Here's what our KCL Price Tracker is telling us about recent Aldi price increases.

Aldi's Roma tomatoes got 67% more expensive, an increase of $0.60 per pound.

Previous Price: $0.89 per pound (in April 2025)
Current Price: $1.49 per pound
Aldi used to have the best prices on Roma tomatoes when I scouted my Central Florida store back in April 2025; they were priced at $0.89 per pound. But as of the first week of June, Roma tomatoes have skyrocketed to $1.49 per pound at my Aldi store, which marks a 67% increase in just three months.
Because of this price jump, I recommend shopping for Roma tomatoes at Walmart instead, where you'll pay $0.98 per pound (and their price has held steady since April).
Ground beef went up 18%, or $0.70 per pound — but Aldi still beats competitors.

Previous Price: $3.99 per pound (in February 2025)
Current Price: $4.69 per pound
Even though the per-pound price on Aldi's 80% lean/20% fat ground beef has increased by 18% since February — going from $3.99 per pound to $4.69 — Aldi still beats Walmart and Target for ground beef prices right now.
For the same variety of ground beef, you'd pay $6.53 per pound at Walmart, or $6.69 per pound at Target — versus $4.69 per pound at Aldi. The only stores that come close are Costco and Sam's Club, where ground beef is around $4.98 a pound.
KCL TIP: Shop for meat at Aldi early in the mornings for your best chance at finding markdowns of up to 50% on meat approaching its sell-by date. We share even more hacks in our Aldi Shopping Tips post.
Sweet Harvest Canned Pineapple went up 16% — an increase of $0.20 per can.

Previous Price: $1.25 (in April 2025)
Current Price: $1.45
Canned pineapple faces a double-whammy of price pressures right now, due to tariffs on imported pineapple and tariffs on aluminum. But even after tracking a 16% price increase on the Sweet Harvest Pineapple Chunks at Aldi since April, their store-brand is still the cheapest, coming in at $1.45 per 20-ounce can.
Compare this to Walmart's Great Value Pineapple, which costs $1.62 for the same size can.
Happy Harvest Canned Green Beans are up 12% — you're paying $0.08 more per can.

Previous Price: $0.68 (in April 2025)
Current Price: $0.76
Canned vegetables have gotten 12% - 48% more expensive at a handful of stores since April, but Aldi is still one of the two stores with the lowest prices on canned green beans (the other is Dollar General).
You'll pay $0.76 per 15-ounce can of Happy Harvest Green Beans at Aldi, which is up $0.08 over the past two months.
Sugar is up 10% — you're paying $0.30 more for a 4-pound bag.

Previous Price: $2.99 (in April 2025)
Current Price: $3.29
I was a little surprised to see that Aldi's 4-pound bag of Baker's Corner Sugar went up 10% since April — the highest increase of all the retailers I tracked. Target raised their price on store-brand sugar by 9%, while Dollar General saw just a 3% price bump.
Now that Aldi's sugar has crept up in price, the cheapest place to buy store-brand sugar is Dollar General, where you'll pay $3.25 for a 4-pound bag of Clover Valley Sugar.
Baker's Corner Chocolate Chips are up 8% — you're paying $0.26 more per 12-ounce bag.

Previous Price: $3.13 (in April 2025)
Current Price: $3.39
I've tracked slight increases (8% - 10%) in chocolate chip prices over the past few months, likely due to the 10% tariffs placed on cacao beans imported from the Ivory Coast and Ecuador. At Aldi, their Baker's Corner Semi-Sweet Morsels went from $3.13 per 12-ounce bag up to $3.39 — an 8% increase.
But Aldi's price per ounce ($0.28) is still cheaper than elsewhere. Consider that Target's Good & Gather chocolate chips cost $0.30 per ounce, and Walmart's Great Value chocolate chips come in at $0.31 per ounce.
Aldi's Essential 1000 Sheets Toilet Paper went up 7% — but it's still at a KCL stock-up price.

Previous Price: $7.49 for 12 rolls (in April 2025)
Current Price: $7.99 for 12 rolls
Aldi sells so many sizes and varieties of bath tissue that it can be hard to keep track of prices. But I've noticed a 7% price increase for their Willow Essential 1000 Sheets 12-pack (the package with 1,241 total square feet) over just the last two months. That means you're paying $0.05 more per roll, or $0.50 per package.
But Aldi's price is still just $0.01 per square foot — which meets our recommended stock-up price for toilet paper. The only other stores where I've tracked similar price increases are at Sam's Club (their Member's Mark toilet paper is up 6%), and Walmart (their Angel Soft 12-pack is up 6%).
KCL TIP: One of the easiest ways to save money at Aldi is to always shop in-store instead of using Aldi pickup. That's because Aldi charges up to 17% more for the same items when you order pickup or delivery.
Jasmine rice is up 5% — you're paying $0.30 more per bag.

Previous Price: $5.89 (in April 2025)
Current Price: $6.19
Aldi's 5-pound bag of jasmine rice (imported from Thailand) went up $0.30 since April, which marks a 5% increase. Notably, Aldi is the only store I've tracked where the price of jasmine rice has gone up since tariffs were announced.
Even after the increase, Aldi has the cheapest price per ounce compared to Walmart and Target. But for the absolute best deal on Jasmine rice, shop at Costco or Sam's Club, where you'll pay around $17.99 for a 25-pound bag.
Countryside Irish Butter is up 4% — you're paying $0.07 more per stick.

Previous Price: $3.55 for two sticks (in April 2025)
Current Price: $3.69 for two sticks
Prices for regular butter have remained pretty steady this year across all stores, but Aldi's imported Countryside Irish Butter has gone up by $0.14 per box, or $0.07 per stick. But Aldi doesn't have the cheapest Irish butter anyway.
You'll pay just $4.79 for four sticks of Kerrygold Irish Butter at Target, which is 35% cheaper than Aldi's store-brand version.
