In some cases, these deals were made even sweeter by Kohl's offer of $15 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent.

Kohl's Black Friday sale is a weeklong event that offers $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 you spend.

Kohl's offered multiple events tied to Black Friday throughout November 2024.

  • Kohl's ran an Early Access event from Nov. 8 - 10. It was an early chance to get that $15 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent, as well as a 15% off coupon. It also offered strong savings on clothing.

  • A second set of early deals dropped on Nov. 21, just three days ahead of the main event.

  • The official Black Friday sale ran Nov. 24-29 with certain deals running Thursday (online) and Friday (online and in stores) only. This sale had a lot more discounted products than the early sale, including savings on fine jewelry and toys that the early event doesn't have. The Kohl's Black Friday main event started Sunday, Nov. 24 at 12:01 a.m. CT (online) and in-store at regular store hours. The sale ended at 11:59 p.m. CT (or when stores closed) on Friday, Nov. 29.

  • You could get a 40% off coupon to use during the sale by opening a Kohl's credit card. Just note that you weren't able to stack this coupon with another %-off coupon. However it is stackable with $-off coupons.

KCL TIP: You can consider the Sunday before Thanksgiving to be the official start of Kohl's Black Friday sale. But consider shopping on Thanksgiving and Black Friday to get extra deals.

Kohl's has a years-long tradition of starting it Black Friday sale the Sunday before Thanksgiving, which will be Nov. 23 in 2025. Deals usually drop 12:01 a.m. CT. Expect a Black Friday ad announcing the dates around Nov. 7, which is when it dropped in 2024.

Whenever Kohl's Black Friday takes place, be on the lookout for the following offers because they’ll often help you beat the prices you find at other stores’ Black Friday sales:

  • $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 you spend.

  • 15% off in stores and online (with a coupon in stores and code online). 

  • Kohl's Rewards Members get 10% off floor care, furniture, as well as kitchen and dining.

Kohl's stores are closed on Thanksgiving.

Kohl's stores haven’t been open on Thanksgiving since 2019.

Kohl's stores open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday.

Kohl's usually open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday.

The Kohl's Black Friday Sweepstakes is in stores only.

Kohl's makes all their Black Friday deals available online. But for those who like the tradition of shopping in stores, Kohl's usually gives in-store shoppers a special treat.

In 2024, that was the ability to enter the a Black Friday sweepstakes. The first 200 customers in store got a sweepstakes card with a code. Enter that code at the website printed on the card to unveil your prize. Possible prizes include the following:

Kohl's Black Friday Doorbusters dropped at 12:01 a.m. CT on Thursday, Nov. 28.

Kohl's also offered some special "doorbuster" deals Thanksgiving and Black Friday only. You could shop Kohl's doorbusters as early as 12:01 a.m. CT on Thanksgiving and in-stores at 5:00 a.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 29.

These were in addition to the other Black Friday deals in the Kohl's Black Friday ad, which are available Nov. 24-29.

Earn $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent, every day of the sale.

Typically see just $10 Kohl’s Cash on a $50 purchase. For Black Friday, Kohl's dials things up a notch with $15 per $50 spent. In 2023, that $15 Kohl's Cash was offered only on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but this year, Kohl's offered it for its whole Black Friday sale (Nov. 24-29).

Kohl's Cash helps Kohl's beat Amazon and Walmart for some products.

Kohl's may seem like a bit of a Black Friday underdog, compared to giants like Amazon, Walmart, and Target. But don't sleep on the Kohl's Black Friday sale. Sometimes, the Kohl's Cash sweetens the deals to the point where they're even better than Walmart's and Amazon's, once you take that Kohl's Cash into account.

This year, the Dyson V8 vacuum for $329.99 earned you $90 ($15 for every $50 spent) in Kohl's Cash, which brought the out-of-pocket cost down to $239.99. Tonies ($99.99 at other retailers on Black Friday) were just $69.99 for Kohl's shoppers who earned the $30 in Kohl's Cash. Remember, though, you actually have to remember to use the Kohl's Cash on your next purchase, otherwise you're throwing away those savings. Kohl's Cash earned during the Black Friday sale is good Nov. 30-Dec. 11.

Look for Black Friday rebates to save 80% or more.

Kohl's is one of the few retailers left that offer rebates. And during their Black Friday sale, these rebates can be stacked with other offers to get you 80% off or more. For example, in 2025 Kohl's offered a mail-in rebate on select $24.99 Toastmaster appliances that, when combined with a 15% off coupon and the Black Friday discount, got you a final price of $4.99.

To get the rebate on a product with a rebate offer, you'll need to mail in the form that came with your in-store or online purchase.

No, Kohl's doesn't price match on Black Friday.

The Kohl's price match policy states “purchases made during Thanksgiving week, purchases made during the week of Cyber Monday will not be adjusted during Thanksgiving week and during the week of Cyber Monday.”

Kohl's Cyber Monday deals begin the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

In 2024, Kohl's started Cyber Monday deals during the weekend, on Saturday. The Kohl's Cyber Monday sale isn't generally better than Black Friday, but slightly different. Instead of a huge list of discounted products, you'll find promo codes for an additional 10% to 20% off depending on the category. In 2024, on Monday, Kohl's offered an extra 20% off with coupon code plus an extra $10 off when you spent at least $50. So, if you're after a specific product, look at Kohl's Black Friday. Then come back for Cyber Monday if you have any general gifting to do.

Your main Kohl's Cyber Monday strategy involves Kohl's Cash. In 2024, Kohl's brought back the offer for $15 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent. So if you miss out on Kohl's Black Friday, be sure to check out their Cyber Monday sale. Plus, if you earn Kohl's Cash during Black Friday, the start date for redeeming it is usually Cyber Monday. So you can shop Black Friday and earn Kohl's Cash, and then take that cash shopping on Cyber Monday.
