Three different bagel sandwiches reappeared at some McDonald’s locations.

About three years after they disappeared from menus nationwide, three types of breakfast bagel sandwiches are reappearing on McDonald’s menus: Steak, Egg & Cheese, Bacon, Egg & Cheese, and Sausage, Egg & Cheese. Here’s a little bit about each sandwich:

  • The Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel is a breakfast sandwich that consists of a freshly toasted bagel with real butter, a steak patty, a folded egg, two slices of American cheese, and grilled onions.
  • The Bacon, Egg & Cheese Bagel includes a toasted bagel with real butter, thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon, a folded egg, and two slices of American cheese.
  • The Sausage, Egg & Cheese Bagel features a freshly toasted bagel with real butter, a pork sausage patty, a folded egg, and two slices of American cheese.

McDonald’s bagel sandwiches are only being served in select markets.

The bagel sandwiches are available at participating McDonald’s locations in select markets, most of which are on the East Coast of U.S. There are reports of the bagel sandwiches in Columbus, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Washington D.C., New York City, and parts of New England. Availability may vary by location, and the bagels are a limited-time offer.

The West Coast seems to be a McBagel desert, with McDonald’s locations in Boise, Portland, and San Francisco reporting that the sandwiches aren’t in their areas.

Although the sandwiches are said to be a limited-time offer in select markets, McDonald’s did tweet back in 2021 that they’re “working on when and how to bring back the Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagels.”

Tip: Find your local McDonald’s contact information and double-check before you order the bagel sandwich — or search for it via the McDonald’s app.

If your McDonald’s has the sandwiches, you can only get them until 10:30 a.m.

Don’t have the bagel breakfast sandwiches at your McDonald’s? Make one at home.

To make a Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel sandwich at home, you will need the following ingredients:

  • bagels
  • steak patties
  • eggs
  • cheese
  • butter or margarine
  • optional: grilled onions

Here’s how to make the sandwich:

  1. Toast the bagels to your desired level of doneness.
  2. Cook the steak patties in a pan according to package instructions.
  3. Cook the eggs in a separate pan to your desired doneness.
  4. Spread butter or margarine on the toasted bagels.
  5. Place the cooked steak patty on one half of the bagel.
  6. Add the cooked egg on top of the steak patty.
  7. Add two slices of cheese on top of the egg.
  8. Optional: add grilled onions on top of the cheese.
  9. Close the sandwich with the other half of the bagel.

Similarly, you can make the Bacon, Egg & Cheese and Sausage, Egg & Cheese bagel sandwiches by substituting the steak patty with bacon or sausage, respectively.
