If you’re on the hunt for denim deals this back-to-school shopping season, the Target Denim Take Back Event is one you won't want to miss. The take-back event will start on Sunday, Aug. 4, and run though Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024. During this first-ever event at Target, you can trade in your old denim (yes, any brand!) and get a 20% off Target Circle coupon you can use on new denim purchases.
This is the first time Target has held an event like this, but we hope it'll return yearly like the Target Car Seat Trade-In Event.
It's time to clean out those closets and get a rare denim Circle coupon out of the process.
Target Denim Take Back Event is a new event for 2024 that gives you a 20% off Circle coupon for your denim.
Don't just toss your worn or ill-fitting denim when you can recycle it for a coupon. Target will take up to five old denim items in any condition during the Target Denim Take Back Event. And if you're a Target Circle member, you’ll walk away with a 20% off bonus coupon you can use on any new denim apparel, including the Levi’s brand.

The take-back event lasts for seven days, and your Circle coupon will only be available to use during the same time frame.
Your first step is to join Target Circle (if you're not already a member) and download the Target app.
Only Circle members get to take advantage of the Denim Take Back Event. When you go to trade in your denim, you’ll use your Circle account to scan a barcode and claim your 20% off coupon.
Target Circle is basically Target’s rewards program, and it’s essential to getting the best deals at Target. The Denim Take Back Event is just one of the many reasons to sign up for Circle.
And don’t forget to download the Target app as well for easy access to your Target Circle coupons while you shop.
Bring in your old denim to Target and scan the QR code to claim your 20% off Circle coupon.
During the Target Denim Take Back Event 2024, stop by your local participating Target store with your worn (or unworn) denim. You’ll see a large donation box near Guest Services in the store — that’s where you’ll drop off your old item.
Sign in to your Circle account before you drop your denim in the box. You’ll need a Circle account to claim your coupon by scanning the QR code on the trade-in box.
The coupon can only be used once, so make sure to purchase all the new denim you want in one trip.
How to get your Target Denim Take Back Coupon:
Drop off your old denim in the designated trade-in box.
Scan the QR code on the box with your Target app.
Look for the 20% off Target Circle coupon in your Target Wallet in the Target app.
Use your coupon toward new denim apparel, including the Levi’s brand, and combine it with other item offers Aug. 4 - 10.

You'll be able to use the 20% off coupon on all denim apparel, including Target-owned brands like Universal Thread, Wild Fable, Goodfellow & Co, and Cat & Jack, plus national brands like Levi's.
There's no limit to how much you can save with your 20% off denim coupon, and you can (and should) combine it with other discounts. For example, 20% off a Levi's Hoodie Trucker Jacket (regularly $89.99) would save you a quick $16, plus it's on sale for $10 off, making your final total $63.99.
Keep in mind that the coupon is only valid during the event, unlike the Car Seat Trade-In which allows you to use the offer after the trade-in period.
And don’t forget — you can always save 5% with your Target Circle Card.
