Walmart Plus Travel: Earn 10% Walmart Cash on Hotel Stays (Book by Nov. 3)

Walmart is packing even more perks into their Walmart Plus membership, and the new travel benefit is worth a shout-out.

Once upon a time, being a Walmart Plus member meant getting free shipping and free grocery delivery. While those benefits are still going strong, they’ve added another benefit to the Walmart Plus membership. Now you can get rewarded for booking travel — like hotels, flights, and rental cars — through your Walmart Plus account.

Saving money has always been important to me, but so is traveling and taking time to explore the world. Figuring out how to do both at the same time is always a challenge, so this new Walmart Plus Travel benefit really spoke to me. The rewards aren’t huge and may not stack up immediately, but it’s a nice way to save extra on trips and treks you already planned to book.

Limited-Time Deal: Earn $10 Walmart Cash for every $100 you spend on hotel stays through Wlamart+ Travel.

Walmart+ members can earn 10% Walmart Cash (that’s double the normal 5% Walmart Cash back rate) when you book hotel stays online at Walmartplustravel.com. That’s $10 for every $100 you spend. You must book by Nov. 3, 2023 for stays through Dec. 31, 2024. You’ll receive your Walmart Cash 30 days in your account after you complete your hotel stay.

Powered by a partnership with Expedia, the Walmart Plus Travel benefit offers exclusive rewards on hotels, flights, rental cars, and more.

If you have a Walmart Plus membership and book travel through their online portal, you get rewarded in Walmart Cash. You can use this Walmart Cash on future purchases from Walmart, or redeem it for cash back. Either way, your Walmart Cash never expires.

You can use the new Walmart Plus Travel benefit by signing into your account on Walmart.com or in the Walmart app (iOS / Android).

Walmart Plus members earn 5% Walmart Cash on hotels and rental cars, plus 2% on air travel.

When you book travel through your Walmart Plus account, you’ll get rewarded in Walmart Cash (formerly known as “Walmart Rewards“).

Hotel stays, rental cars, and activities you book through your Walmart Plus account will automatically qualify for 5% back in Walmart Cash. Flight bookings qualify for 2% back in Walmart Cash. All you have to do is book your travel through Walmart Plus to qualify for rewards. Walmart Cash will show up in your account 30 days after your trip ends.

Your Walmart Cash earnings depend on the type of travel you book and how much you spend overall. The more you book (and spend) through the portal, the more you earn in Walmart Cash.

 

How to Book a Trip with Walmart Plus Travel:

1. Sign in to your Walmart Plus account (online or in the app), and visit your W+ Benefits page.
2. Under Walmart Plus Travel, select “Book a trip.”
3. Search for hotels, flights, packages, or things to do, and complete your booking through the site.
4. Look for Walmart Cash to appear in your account 30 days after the end of your trip.

Talk about making the most of your membership. You can combine multiple Walmart Plus benefits and hit the road with bigger savings.

Use your Walmart Plus Travel benefit to get a rental car for your trip and earn Walmart Cash on your booking. Then, leverage your Walmart Plus fuel benefit to save $0.10 per gallon on gas.

Walmart Plus members get exclusive fuel pricing at Mobil and Exxon gas stations. At the pump, select “Services” at the bottom of the screen, then tap “Member prices on fuel.” With your Walmart app, scan the QR code that appears on the pump screen and begin fueling. You’ll get a printed receipt showing your savings when you’re finished.

 

Don’t forget — a Walmart Plus membership costs $12.97 a month (or $98 a year) and comes with other benefits, too.

A Walmart Plus membership costs $12.97 a month if you opt to pay by the month, but if you spring for the annual plan, it’ll cost you less in the end. With the annual plan, you’ll end up paying $98 for the year, which comes out to $8 a month.
