GameStop Releases Baby Yoda-Heavy Holiday Gift Guide

It’s the most wonderful time — for gift catalogs.

Sure, you’ll find video games in the GameStop holiday gift guide, but you’ll also find accessories, collectibles, and even apparel in the 60-page booklet.

GameStop’s “Ready. Set. Gift” guide is out, full of Nintendo Switch, gamers’ accessories and yes, Baby Yoda. But don’t get out your payment card just yet.

Here’s what you need to know:

Pretty much everything in the gift guide is retail priced; just use it to browse products.

Black Friday prices are coming, GameStop promises, but until those specific deals are announced sometime in the coming weeks, the gift guide is more of a reminder of what GameStop sells — not a book of discounts.

Pretty much everything — from the upcoming PlayStation 5 console to Nintendo Switch games to a Fortnite Loot Llama piñata — is no lower than the MSRP. And in some cases, like their Astro A10 Gaming Headset, the price is higher than most others stores’ prices.

The best deals in the gift guide have to do with earning Game Coin.

It’s free to sign up for GameStop’s Power Up Rewards program at the “Player” level (“Pro” costs $14.99/year).

When you join, you’re eligible to earn “Game Coin” on select purchases, which essentially is store credit that can be used your next purchase.

Here are some current offers for Power Up Rewards members:

  • GameStop is giving $30 in Game Coin when you spend $300.
  • When you pre-purchase the upcoming games Cyberpunk 2077, Assassins Creed Valhalla, or Watch Dogs Legion, you’ll get $10 in Game Coin.
  • Buy 5 action figures, get 1 free.
  • Buy 10 Funko Pop at $11.99 each, get 2 free

Power Up members also earn points on every purchase (10 points per $1 spent) that can be cashed in for rewards, coupons, and more. Learn more about Power Up Rewards.
