Every October, Amazon throws an early holiday sale called Prime Big Deal Days. Because the deals are so good (and because the sale is open only to Prime members), we like to think of it as an October Prime Day. In 2025, the sale ran Oct. 7 - 8, and we expect it back in early October 2026.

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days is an annual 48-hour event with thousands of deals, but only for Prime members.
About three months after the summer Prime Day sale, Amazon hosts a 48-hour event to unofficially kick off the holiday shopping season. Amazon's Prime Day sale was four days long in July 2025, so there was some speculation about Prime Big Deal Days being four days long this year as well. But Amazon is sticking to 48 hours.
During this sale — which is exclusive to Amazon Prime members — there are thousands of discounts across tons of different products, including Amazon Echo devices, Apple AirPods, TVs, smartphones, robot vacuums, and mattresses.
And just like with July's Prime Day sale, the deals are available only to shoppers with an Amazon Prime membership. Not a Prime Member? You can sign up for a free trial and get all the regular Prime member benefits, including exclusive deals. Just be sure to cancel your membership before it automatically signs you up at the end of the trial.
KCL predicts the next Amazon Prime Big Deal Days will run Oct. 6 - 7.
How do we make our prediction?
The timing has varied a bit over the years, with the sale sometimes starting the second Tuesday of October and sometimes the first Tuesday. Last time, the sale started the first Tuesday of the month, and we think Amazon will keep to that timing for 2026. However, there's always a chance the sale will go back to the second Tuesday, in which case it would start Oct. 13.
Either way, Amazon usually drops a press release confirming the dates in mid-September, and we'll be watching for it.

What is Prime Big Deal Days vs. Prime Day?
Don’t get the two Amazon sales confused, as they take place at different times of the year. The Prime Big Deal Days sale happens in October, while Amazon's Prime Day Sale happens in July.

Many other stores piggyback on the success of Amazon’s Fall Prime Sale every year, and 2025 is no exception. Target Circle Week and the Walmart's Holiday Deals event, for example, usually fall right on top of October Prime Day.
