During the Michaels Early Black Friday sale, which ran Nov. 12 –17, they offered shoppers up to 70% off Christmas trees and those deals were available throughout the entire sale.

The Michaels Black Friday ad will likely arrive on Nov. 22, 2024.
The 2023 Michaels Black Friday ad dropped on Nov. 17, 2023. It has eight pages of deals on craft supplies, holiday decor, Christmas trees, gifts, and more. You can browse all eight pages of deals in the ad scan above.
Based on this, we think the 2024 Michaels Black Friday ad will arrive on the Friday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 22, 2024.
When will Michaels Black Friday start in 2024?
The Michaels Black Friday deals dropped on Nov. 17, 2023. These deals are slated to run from Nov. 17 through Nov. 25, which is a full four days longer than the 2022 sale.
Since the deals usually start the same day as the ad drop, you can expect Michaels Black Friday deals to begin on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024. These deals will likely run through Saturday, Nov. 30.
Is Michaels open on Thanksgiving?
No. Michaels stores are closed on Thanksgiving, but you can shop deals online all day long. Based on prior years’ sales, doors will open on Black Friday at 7 a.m. local time.

As a Michaels Rewards member, you’ll get 3% back on your entire purchase in stores and online for the whole Black Friday event. Plus, other perks like:
- Spend over $300 over 12 months and you’ll earn 6%.
- Earn rewards when you buy certain promotional items. Sometimes the promotion isn’t specific to a certain product. You’ll just see an offer like: “Earn $5 in Rewards when you spend $25 or more.”
- Look for Rewards offers in the Michaels app under “Weekly Ad,” then tap “Michaels Rewards.”
- In-store, look for the Rewards flyer at the front of the store to see how you can earn rewards that day.
- You can earn up to $150 in Rewards per day. Michaels will email your $5 Rewards Voucher anytime you earn one. It’s basically a store credit that you can spend on your next Michaels purchase.
- In addition to earning Rewards Vouchers, you’ll get receipt-less returns, invitations to events, and be the first to know about upcoming Michaels sales.
- Get your hands on a Michaels Black Friday catalog to clip the 20% off coupon. You can use this coupon for bigger Black Friday savings online and in stores.
You can’t stack coupons, but you can stack rewards vouchers.
If you have a coupon for a specific item at 40% off and then have a 20% off your purchase coupon, you can’t combine them for a 60% discount. Instead, Michaels will take 40% off the coupon item and then discount the remainder of your order by 20%.
However, you can use $5 rewards vouchers alongside other coupons.
Black Friday is THE time to shop for Christmas trees and Cricut at Michaels.
The absolute best part of the Michaels Black Friday sale, in my opinion, is snagging up to 70% off Christmas trees. In 2023, we saw a 7.5-foot pre-lit Vermont Pine Flocked tree for $119.99 (reg. $399.99) a 70% discount.
We’ve also seen $50 off select Cricut machines — specifically the Cricut Maker 3 and 9″x9″ Cricut EasyPress 2 — dropping them to 12% and 34% off, respectively. This matched their Organization Event for the deepest discount we’ve seen on these machines.
Get familiar with the return policy.
Read up on the Michaels return policy so you know what to expect if purchases don’t work out. You’ll have 60 days to make a return, but the product has to be unopened and unused. You’ll need a receipt to receive all of your money back. If you can’t find your receipt, the store may be able to look you up in their system or through your Rewards account. If no proof of purchase can be found, you’ll be refunded the lowest selling price for the item over the past 90 days via store credit.
