It's a common misconception that you can’t coupon at Walmart. That couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, Walmart is an excellent place to coupon. When you combine Walmart’s everyday low prices with coupons, Walmart Cash offers, and cash-back rebate apps, magic happens. And by “magic,” we mean you can score ultra-low prices or even free products.
1. Download the Walmart app and The Krazy Coupon Lady app.
To get serious about shopping at Walmart, you’ll definitely want to download the free Walmart coupon app. Use it to shop online, check prices, look for clearance products, and find items' locations in-store.
You'll also want to download the KCL app. Our free Krazy Coupon Lady app takes the guesswork out of couponing and makes saving at Walmart simple. Use it to check out the Walmart weekly deal matchup, which is published each Saturday. We find the best deals for you, along with the matching coupons. And you'll be able to see our Walmart deal breakdowns, which tell you exactly what to buy and which coupons to use.
2. Get cash back with Walmart Cash offers.
Walmart Cash is reward money you earn through special, limited-time manufacturer offers that you clip on Walmart.com or in the Walmart app. These offers range from $0.50 to $30 back on a single item, depending on the deal. You can earn Walmart Cash on Walmart pickup and delivery orders too, since they're connected to your Walmart account. And you can redeem these offers both in-store and online.
Important: You can't use paper coupons with Walmart Cash offers. Also, Walmart Cash offers and Ibotta rebates can't be combined on the same product. Since Walmart partners with Ibotta, Walmart Cash offers are often Ibotta offers in disguise. For example, in the following deal, you can use EITHER the Ibotta rebate OR the Walmart Cash offer.
KCL TIP : If a deal doesn’t go as planned (for example, a rebate doesn’t work), Walmart's return policy is generous. You may be able to return or exchange the product.
3. Use cash-back rebate apps.
When you use a cash-back rebate app, it means you pay the shelf price at the register and then get money back after your purchase. You receive the money back by claiming offers and submitting receipts or linking those apps to your Walmart account. Depending on the offer, you might get a few dollars, or even the entire product cost, refunded to you. The beauty of rebate shopping is that it can be 100% digital — no scissors or printer required.
The Most Popular Rebate Apps:
-
Ibotta is an easy app with tons of rebates for groceries and other products you buy frequently. See our Ibotta guide here.
-
Aisle doesn’t use an app. Instead, receive texts with offers near you, and get rewards by texting pictures of your receipt. See our Aisle guide here.
-
Fetch Rewards is very user-friendly for beginners and makes it simple to redeem offers. See our Fetch guide here.
-
Shopkick gives you several ways to earn kicks (or points.) See our Shopkick guide here.
Stack your rebates with other rebates or manufacturer coupons.
Often one product qualifies for multiple rebates over several apps, so you may be able to submit the same receipt to more than one app, meaning you can stack them. Stacking is just a fancy word for combining offers on one product. For example, in this SheaMoisture body wash deal, you get $6 off one bottle with two offers: $4 off with Ibotta and $2 off with Fetch Rewards.
In rare cases you can also use a printable or newspaper coupon with a rebate app on one product for extra savings. But check the fine print on your cash-back offer to be sure it allows stacking with a coupon.
See if trial and travel sizes are eligible.
Some rebates and coupons apply to small sizes (such as trial and travel-sized products), which can leave you with an especially great deal. So be sure to check the fine print to ensure trial and/or travel sizes aren’t excluded.
KCL TIP: Use rebates with clearance or Rollback prices to maximize savings, and even score freebies or moneymakers.
4. Pair in-store purchases with newspaper and printable manufacturer coupons.
Does Walmart accept coupons? Yes, Walmart accepts valid paper manufacturer coupons when you’re making a purchase in-store only.
Where can you find manufacturer coupons? We have the Sunday newspaper coupon schedule, making it easy to see when you might want to purchase a weekend paper. We've also rounded up 16 of the best ways to get manufacturer coupons.
Coupon Requirements: Manufacturer coupons must be physical (newspaper or printed), they must have a scannable barcode and a clear expiration date, and they must have the words "manufacturer coupon" on them.
Coupon Restrictions: No digital or mobile coupons are accepted in-store, and coupons aren't accepted for delivery or pickup orders. No competitor coupons are allowed, and there's a limit of four identical coupons per household per day.
Read Walmart’s full coupon policy. Final decisions are at the discretion of store managers.
KCL TIP : Sometimes you can find coupons on products on the shelf in-store. These are called “peelies.” Just peel them off and redeem at checkout.
