You may have seen a free Miller Lite offer as part of our 26 food and travel freebies for Leap Day 2020.
In the wake of a deadly mass shooting at the Molson Coors campus Wednesday, Feb. 26, the company is canceling its scheduled Feb. 29 Leap Day free Miller Lite promotion.
Five people died when a 51-year-old Molson Coors employee opened fire Wednesday afternoon. More than 1,000 people work at the Milwaukee-based campus.
“Given the recent news in our hometown, we will not be proceeding with the [Miller Lite] promotion,” a Molson Coors spokesperson tweeted Thursday.

What was the Miller Lite free case deal?
The promotion would’ve given beer drinkers a free 24-pack of Miller Lite purchased on Leap Day after submitting their receipt via special QR code, which was to be shared via Miller Lite Twitter and Miller Lite Instagram. The cost of the 24-pack would be refunded to the shopper’s PayPal account.
We’re heartbroken about the tragic events in Milwaukee and totally support Molson Coors’ decision to suspend the promotion.
