Whittling down the things to buy in November isn't an easy task — we see some of the lowest prices of the year during Black Friday sales. That makes it feel like a major stock-up time. But we managed to pare down the deals to a list of nine things to buy in November that are worthy of your time (and your money). You’ll find Thanksgiving food coupons, deals on electronics, and apparel deals on our list.

As always, we’ll explain how to do even better than the Black Friday sale price. Some food deals are better if you shop the week before Thanksgiving. And some Cyber Monday deals on apparel are better than they are on Black Friday. Don’t settle for the first sale you see, even when it’s tempting. Here’s a list of things to buy in November, along with the prices you should aim to pay (and when to score them).

Use our new Deal Planner in the free Krazy Coupon Lady app to set alerts for the best November sales! We'll remind you as soon as the deals go live so you don't miss out. Download the KCL app now.

Here's where you're going to find the best deals on stock-up items in November.

calendar of retail events and what to buy in November 2024
  • Walmart Black Friday: Walmart has confirmed its Black Friday sale (wave 1) will start on Nov. 11.

  • Target Black Friday: The 2024 Target Black Friday sale will begin Sunday Nov. 24, with additional deals dropping online on Thanksgiving and in stores on Black Friday.

  • Amazon Black Friday: The Amazon Black Friday sale is predicted to start on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.

  • Kohl’s Black Friday Sale: We'll likely see early Black Friday deals from Kohl's at the beginning of the month, but expect their official Black Friday sale to begin on Sunday, Nov. 24.

  • Best Buy Black Friday: Early Black Friday deals begin on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, with Best Buy Plus and Total members getting access to the deals on Thursday, Nov. 7. The official sale begins on Thursday, Nov. 21.

And now, here's everything you should be buying during these sales:

1. Dove Holiday Stocking Stuffers

While you're shopping Black Friday sales for biggies like TVs and game consoles, it's also smart to stock up on essentials that you can use as stocking stuffers (or just to replenish your personal stash). Dove released their limited edition holiday collection with scents like Frosted Plum Berry and Gingerbread Delight, and you can get $2 off with a manufacturers coupon. Stack this with your 5% Target Circle card discount and you'll get 29% off.

2. Electronics

While you don’t exactly “stock up in November” on TVs or electronics deals, they’re still things to buy in November if you need a replacement or an upcoming Christmas gift. In fact, electronics are the number one thing our KCL users are looking for deals on this year.

TVs

Keep a goal of 40% – 50% savings in mind as you sort out the best Black Friday TV deals. Don’t waste any time on TV deals for less than 20% off regular prices. What about top-name brands? Well, if you can save 30% on a top-rated TV from LG, Samsung, or Sony, you’re getting a deal.

iPhones

If you’re looking to buy an iPhone from a retailer (and not directly from a carrier), Walmart, Target, and Best Buy have the best iPhone Black Friday deals on older generations like the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, or iPhone 12. Surprisingly, Amazon iPhone deals aren’t nearly as good as other major retailers. We see refurbished iPhones for as low as $299 and iPhone 13 bundles with headphones and other accessories for as low as $499.

iPads

Look for up to $400 off iPad Black Friday deals. We've seen a 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro for $1,399.99 (regularly $1,799). Lots of other iPad Pro models will be up to $100 off. Last year, the 2022 Apple iPad was $419 (regularly $449) and a 2021 iPad was $269.99 (regularly $329).

You could also see up to $50 off iPad Air models and $100 off the iPad Mini.

AirPods

You'll always get the cheapest AirPods Black Friday deals on older generations. Here's what we've seen most recently to give you an idea of what to expect this year:

  • AirPods 2nd Generation: As low as $69 at Walmart and Amazon. Typically $79.99 (reg. $129.99, 38% off)

  • AirPods 3rd Generation: $139.99 at Amazon (reg. $179.99, 22% off)

  • AirPods Pro 2nd Generation: $199.99 at Amazon, Target, and Walmart (reg. $249.99, 20% off)

  • AirPods Max: $449 at Amazon and Walmart (reg. $549.99, 18% off)

Xbox

Target and Walmart win every year for the best deals on Xbox Black Friday deals with their bundles. Target had the Diablo IV and Xbox X bundle for a whopping 36% off. Shoppers paid $431.24 and received a $75 Target gift card. Plus, you could save an extra 5% on Black Friday purchases with your Target Circle Card. All in all, this was the absolute best deal of the holiday season.

Walmart was a close second with that same bundle retailing for $120 or 22% off. While not as good as the Target deal, this one still beat other retailers’ Black Friday Xbox deals by $70.

3. Free Thanksgiving Turkey

Many popular grocery retailers offer a free Thanksgiving turkey promotion during their November sales. Just by doing your regular grocery shopping, you’ll earn a free turkey either by spending a certain amount throughout the month or within a single store visit.

If you don’t end up scoring a free turkey, the goal price per pound should be around $0.50. This means a 14-pound turkey will ring up around $7 when you check out. Looking at last year’s grocery ads, you’re more likely to score the best per-pound price on a turkey if you shop after Nov. 10.

Free turkey deals we expect in 2024.

  • Ibotta Thanksgiving Meal: Free turkey, three sides, and gravy for completing the Turkey and Sides bonuses in your Ibotta account. If this deal returns in 2024, it'll start Nov. 1.

  • Kroger: Their offer is usually one free turkey when you spend $125 or more in a single transaction.

  • Shoprite: Last year, Price Plus club members could earn a free frozen turkey up to 21 pounds when they spent $400 at Shoprite during a promo period in mid-November.

  • Giant Food Stores: Trade 400 Giant Food Stores reward points for a free turkey up to 20 pounds. If this offer returns, expect to see it on Nov. 1.

  • Acme: Last year, you could earn a free turkey through your Acme U account after spending $400.

4. Thanksgiving Dinner Ingredients

Your local grocery store's November ads will be full of deals on ingredients to make Thanksgiving dinner. It's worth noting that you'll see more of these 2024 stock-up prices closer to mid-November and the week before Thanksgiving.

These should be your goal stock-up prices to wait for this year.

  • Broth: $0.08 per ounce for Swanson and $0.06 per ounce for College Inn — $2.49 and $1.99 for 32-ounce boxes, respectively.

  • Stuffing: $0.75 to $1 per box for store brand and $1.49 per box for Stove Top.

  • Canned pumpkin: $1.25 per can for Libby's.

  • Butter: $0.50 per stick for store-brand butter, or $2 per pound. Stock up on Land-O-Lakes at $0.75 per stick or $3 per pound (Walmart usually has the best prices).

  • Flour: Stock up on Gold Medal at $2.49 for a 5-pound bag and King Arthur at $5 for the 5-pound bag.

  • Pie crusts: $1.50 per crust. We’ve also seen buy one get one free offers, working out to $1.07 per crust.

5. Food Storage Containers

If your old Tupperware needs to be replaced, November is the time to shop for deals on food storage containers. Aim to pay $0.50 per piece for plastic or $2 per piece for glass. In practice, you should look for 3-piece Ziploc deals or Glad plastic sets for $1.49 or an 18-piece glass set for around the $25 price point.

6. Toys

While October is actually a good time to start picking up the hottest toys of the year, you can still shop sales in November to get some pretty fab toy deals. The biggest deals are always at Amazon, Target, and Walmart.

One of our favorites — the Target Circle 25% off toy coupon — is here and it's valid through Nov. 16 to use on one eligible toy. Use this on bigger ticket toys like Barbie houses or Lego sets. Amazon should be your go-to for deals on Melissa & Doug toys and for small stocking stuffers under $5.

7. Family Pajamas

With the November sales, we expect $9 or less for kids’ sizes and $15 or less for adult sets. Kohl’s, Old Navy, and Target have some of the best pricing each year. Shop Target around the middle of November — usually the week of Thanksgiving. Kohl’s is going to have the best prices (we’re talking 75% off) during and after Black Friday. And you'll see an in-store-only deal for $5 pajama pants in the Old Navy Black Friday sale.

8. Women’s Boots

One thing the sales all Black Friday sales have in common is a price drop on women’s boots. Most retailers (Macy’s, Kohl’s, JCPenney) offer some version of $19.99 boots, and this year will be no different.

But to be truly Krazy, we have to do better than that.

Utilize Kohl’s stackable coupons (while earning Kohl’s Cash) or save Target Circle offers (we’ve seen up to 30% off boots in November), to get a pair between $13 – $16 for a true deal.

9. Kids’ Coats

Another thing most Black Friday sales have in common? Kids’ coats and jacket deals. And just like women’s boots, we think you can do better than the average $19.99 price. Hold out until Cyber Monday, because you’ll see up to 79% off puffer coats by the tail end of November. Buy a size up if you're shopping for a kid, and store it away for next year if you manage to find 80% off or higher.

While $19.99 is an okay price for kids’ coats, it’s entirely possible to get them closer to $13 for toddlers and $15 for kids.

10. Halloween Clearance

By the first of the month, you should be scooping up whatever’s left on the shelf for at least 70% off in Halloween clearance sales. These Halloween deals hit as much as 90% off and you can stock up on (non-edible) spooky stuff for next year.

  • Halloween decor: Target kicks off Halloween clearance at 50% off on Nov. 1. Then they’ll usually drop to 70% off, but the pickings get slim. Finally, if there’s anything left, you can get 90% off — but by then the shelves are pretty bare.

  • Halloween costumes: Walmart also started clearance on Nov. 1, and you'll see the best clearance prices on costumes — usually as low as $4 to $8.

  • Trunk-or-Treat kits: CVS also discounts all the way up to 90% off. The shelves can look like a ghost town (pun intended), but we’ve seen trunk-or-treat sets and adult costumes marked down to just $1.99 (regularly $19.99).

  • Halloween candy: TBH, all stores are going to have killer candy deals to get them off the shelves. You can stock up in November on clearance candy at 70% - 90% off to fill up Christmas stockings next month.

National Sandwich Day — Nov. 3

National Sandwich Day is celebrated on Nov. 3 every year. The celebration typically includes, you guessed it, free sammies.

Election Day — Nov. 5

Businesses offer deals on the Presidential Election Day to encourage and celebrate voting. In past years, companies like Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, and Dave & Buster’s have participated, offering free donuts, discounted drinks, and half-priced games, respectively. Some require an I Voted sticker, so be sure to get out there and vote.

Veterans Day — Nov. 11

Each year we compile a list of businesses offering Veterans Day freebies for items or services to veterans and active military. Typically these freebies are only offered on actual Veterans Day, Nov. 11., but we have seen some offered throughout the weekend and a whole list of military discounts offered throughout the year.

Starbucks Red Cup Day — Nov. 21 (Predicted)

Another thing to add to your list of things to buy in November? A drink from the Starbucks holiday menu. Get a free red reusable cup when you order a seasonal drink on Starbucks Red Cup Day, predicted for Nov. 21, 2024.

Wait until December for …

Target Gift Cards

Target often has a 10% off sale on gift cards the first weekend in December. We’re predicting the 2024 Target gift card sale to run Dec. 7 – 8, 2024.

Candles

If you want to stock up on candles for gifts (or just for yourself) hold off until December for Bath & Body Works Candle Day. We think you’ll see this sale on Dec. 6 – 8, 2024.

Travel Tuesday

Travel Tuesday falls annually on the day after Cyber Monday — that's Dec. 3 in 2024. It’s the day when airlines, hotels, and even cruise lines offer discounts to get in on all the Black Friday sale madness. We typically see the best deals from smaller airlines.
