We're officially in the midst of summer, and our list of things you should stock up on in July reflects the hot weather, Fourth of July sales, the end-of-summer break, and Amazon Prime Day.
The biggest sale every July is Amazon Prime Day, which is July 8 - 11, and the competing sales like Target Circle Week (July 6 - 12) and the Walmart Deals Events (July 8 - 13). Stock up in July on school supplies, Amazon devices, electronics, summer apparel, snacks, and more during these three sales in early and mid-July.

First, these are THE sales you should shop in July each year:
Amazon Prime Day
Amazon’s Prime Day is July 8 - 11, 2025. It's a little earlier than we predicted after last year's late start, and you can expect early Prime Day deals to start rolling out the week of June 30.
What to Shop For: The best deals are on Amazon devices like Ring and Kindle — along with homeware, clothing, and beauty. You’ll also see up to 30% off popular brands like Apple, Yeti, and iRobot.
Target Circle Week
Target Circle Week in July begins Sunday, July 6, 2025 for everyone, but Target Circle 360 paid members get early access to the deals on July 5.
Unlike Amazon Prime Day, you don't need a paid membership to shop Target’s sales on July 6, but you do need to be a member of Target Circle (it’s free to sign up). And they've made it even easier; all Target shoppers get all Target Circle deals without having to claim individual deals in the app before shopping. Plus, you'll still get the 5% Target Circle Card discount, if you have the Target Circle Card.
What to Shop For: Look for toys at 50% off, back-to-school essentials from $0.35, summer apparel, and up to 40% off top home brands like Keurig, KitchenAid, Ninja, Dyson, Shark, and Bissell.
Walmart Deals
If Amazon and Target are doing it, you better believe Walmart is getting in on the July sale action. Dubbed Walmart Deals, this summer sales event runs July 7 - 13. You don't need a Walmart+ membership for this sale, but paid members get access to the sale five hours earlier (at 7 p.m. ET) than the general public (who can start shopping July 8 at 12:01 a.m. ET).
What to Shop For: Get deals on back-to-school essentials, electronics, home items, toys, outdoor items, travel, and more, including on brands like Dyson, GE, Lego, and Nintendo.
Now that you know where to shop, here’s WHAT to buy in July:

Electronics and Amazon Devices
You’ll see the lowest prices on Echo products, Fire tablets, TV deals, cheap Beats Solo wireless headphones, and more.
KCL TIP: Believe it or not, Target sometimes has better prices on Amazon devices — especially if you have a Circle Card for the 5% discount. It’s a great idea to price compare these two stores during July sales.
School and Office Supplies
Back-to-school sales are in full effect throughout July, and you’ll score the best deals at Target, Walmart, and Staples. In fact, Target is freezing some of its prices at 2024 prices (meaning you can sidestep tariffs). And Staples is offering early back-to-school deals (with some items as low as $0.25) in stores and online. Shop these sales early to make sure you check off your kid’s school supplies list.
We're also expecting temporary tariff cuts to affect some back-to-school prices. To prepare for price increases, you should be shopping for laptops and tech (like headphones and calculators) along with basic school supplies (like pencils, crayons, etc.). Apparel and shoes can wait until August.
Towards the end of the month, shop back-to-school clearance sales to get 70% - 80% off clearance at Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Hobby Lobby, and CVS.

Large and Small Appliances
Along with the Big Three, check out July sales at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy, and Macy’s.
Home Depot and Lowe’s Fourth of July sales have up to 40% off major appliances like refrigerators, microwaves, and stoves. Plus, look for additional savings like $150 or 10% off two appliances. They also often offer free appliance delivery with a minimum spend of $299. These offers end July 9, 2025.
We expect you’ll see special financing offers throughout these summer appliance sales. And we predict that Macy’s will drop some of their small Ninja appliances to current year price lows — we’re talking Black Friday-level deals.
Fourth of July Decor, Apparel, and Fireworks
Beginning July 5, start browsing for deals on red, white, and blue everything. Target usually starts at 30% off immediately after the holiday. You’ll get 50% off by mid-week and if anything is left on the week of July 13, you could get 70% - 90% off.
Walmart follows a similar Fourth of July clearance schedule. And if you want to start shopping clearance early, Hobby Lobby has their Fourth of July goods marked down by 40% as of June 25. We predict you’ll see closer to 60% off when we hit July 1.
KCL TIP: Shop early to get your hands on the hottest clearance items, but shop later to get the biggest savings on clearance.
Summer Apparel for the Family
With back-to-school deals hitting shelves, summer apparel (swimwear, sandals, tanks, and shorts) will be getting the clearance treatment this month.
You’ll find lots of deals on summer clothes in the Black Friday in July sales. Target will likely have women’s tees for $3, dresses under $10, and swim options for the family starting at $5.
We’re watching for the return of Time and Tru dresses in every color at Walmart for $5 or less. If you see those prices this month, grab ’em because you won’t see them again until next year.
Snacks and Summer Meals
Although back to school typically makes us think of pencils and school uniforms, we also see some stellar deals on easy-to-grab snacks and packed-lunch essentials. Amazon is your go-to for the best cheap snack deals. Shop Prime Day and get 30% - 50% off top snack brands like Planters, Frito-Lay, PopCorners, Celsius, and Quaker.
You'll also find July Fourth deals at the grocery store if you're hosting a barbecue on a budget for your Fourth of July celebration.
