Even though most stores are closed on Thanksgiving, there are plenty that plan to stay open for the turkey holiday. Whether you need a last-minute stash of cranberry sauce or something urgent from the pharmacy, at least one of your go-to stores will be open this Thanksgiving.
Based on 2022 holiday hours, we listed which stores you can expect to be open on Thanksgiving 2023. You can also expect several grocery stores and restaurants to be open on Thanksgiving Day this year!

Ace Hardware
Ace Hardware stores are independently owned, so you may find your local store open on Thanksgiving. Call ahead to confirm your store’s hours before you take the trip. Ace Hardware’s regular business hours on Thursdays are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Big Lots
Big Lots will be open on Thanksgiving, with most locations open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Last year, Big Lots had toys for 50% off and recliner chairs for $199.99 on Thanksgiving Day. Big Rewards members got 15% off their purchases, and for every $100 spent, they received $10 in Big Bucks toward their next purchase.
Bass Pro Shops
Bass Pro Shops will be open on Thanksgiving from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cabela’s

Drive-Thrus Open on Thanksgiving
We’ve got a full list of restaurants open on Thanksgiving, but here are two big ones:
McDonalds
Most McDonalds locations will be open on Thanksgiving, except for those inside Walmart stores (since Walmart is closed on Thanksgiving). They’ll have breakfast hours 5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
Starbucks
Most Starbucks locations will be open on Thanksgiving. We expect them to be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Starbucks stores inside Target will be closed, though, as Target doesn’t open on Thanksgiving.
Are liquor stores open on Thanksgiving?
Before you head out for a few bottles of wine on Thanksgiving, you might want to call ahead to confirm your local liquor store’s holiday hours.
If you find a liquor store that’s open, keep in mind that many states prohibit alcohol sales on holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Here’s what you need to know before you head to the liquor store.
These states do not sell alcohol on Thanksgiving:
