It it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? That’s the mindset many of us have when we find a product we love and stay loyal to it. But what’s the fun in tasting the same chicken noodle soup over and over again for years when there are dozens of other brands to choose from? I consider myself an adventurer and a student who’s always looking to learn something new. And although I take great comfort in Campbell’s, I’ve learned to love Progresso, thanks to a coupon I used years ago. So when you only have a coupon for a brand you’re not accustomed to using, be adventurous and try a new product that you’ll save more money on, and at the same time, experience something new.

Keep an open mind

Don't be afraid to try a new product or a different brand. We can often get stuck in a rut, buying the same products over and over. Add some variety to your rotation by branching out with new flavors and varieties. If there's a taste or smell you can't live without, try looking at the "on sale" brands with similar ingredients.

Newly launched

A big advantage to being loyal to coupons rather than brands is the opportunity to try the newest products. When manufacturers launch a new item, they often advertise with a high-value coupon for you to try it out!

Generics

When there just aren't coupons for what you need (such as cream soups in the middle of summer or BBQ sauce in the winter), feel free to try the store brand or the generic to tide you over until the next sale cycle. Many times generics are manufactured by the same company as the name brand or taste similar (or better!) than their counterparts.
