These days, it’s hard for most people to leave their homes without their beloved smartphones. I’m no different. My iPhone is pretty much my personal assistant. I rely on it to inform me of breaking news, important scheduled events, and now it even helps me be a more organized couponer. Thanks to one smartphone feature specifically, I’m able to pull up the best deals faster than accessing a webpage. What is this magical feature, you ask?

Introducing: the screenshot

It's like having a miniature copier in the palm of my hand. When I'm on the Krazy Coupon Lady website and find a deal, I simply click a "picture" of the deal. Later, when I'm at the store and ready to coupon, I can easily access the copy of the deal through my photos.  It's a quick and valuable reference tool.

How do you take a screenshot?

On an iPhone, press the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time. If you do this correctly, the screen will flash and you'll hear the same camera-shutter sound that the camera app makes when you take a photo. To find out how to take a screenshot on your specific device, Google "how to take a screen shot for a _____."

Have barcodes ready at checkout

I also use the screenshot feature to take photos of barcodes from mobile deals through sites like Target, Michaels and Hobby Lobby. This is such an extreme timesaver at checkout. I pull up the picture of the barcode, show the cashier and alleviate unnecessary time scrolling through my photos. Cashiers appreciate the organization, and even the people waiting in line behind me are happier!

There are numerous couponing apps available that offer great ways to organize coupons, but for me, I like to keep it as simple as possible. What's your preferred way to organize on your smartphone or tablet?
