Here are some examples of stores' policies regarding price guarantees:

  • Giant Eagle Accu-Scan policy: If the charge price of a product appears on your register tape at an amount higher than the displayed, posted, or advertised price, you will receive the first improperly scanned item free.
  • Publix Checkout Promise: Our Publix checkout promise guarantees that if during checkout, the scanned price of an item (excluding alcohol and tobacco products) exceeds the shelf price or advertised price, we will give the customer one of that item free. The remaining items will be charged at the lower price.
  • Weis Price Accuracy Policy: If the price charged is higher than the shelf tag price, you receive one of the items free up to a limit of $10.00. For an item costing more than $10.00 customer will receive $10.00 off the lowest shelf or advertised price. Customer will be charged the correct price for any additional units of that product in the order.
