Just How Early Can You Shop for Halloween Stuff? (Hint: Some Stores Started in July!)

Fall is just around the corner and even though we’re still thinking about Labor Day sales and summer clearance, some stores are already thinking about the end of October. We’ve seen sneak peeks at this year’s Halloween deals on store shelves and online. Some stores, like Lowe’s, had Halloween decor on display back in July. We’ve also seen Halloween costumes appearing at Walmart, Target, and on Amazon.

So, what stores have Halloween stuff out for 2023? These stores do!

If you want to start checking off things on your Halloween shopping to-do list, here’s where to start.

• Walmart: You can score $15 costumes in-store and online as of late August 2023.
• Target: Target is not messing around this year. Shop costumes, Halloween Halloween Decor under $25, Dollar Spot finds, Halloween Squishmallows, and even new adaptive Halloween costumes this year!
• Home Depot: Get enormous (and TikTok famous) outdoor decor — like Skelly the 12-foot giant skeleton and a 13-foot Jack Skellington for your front yard. (Unfortunately, the viral Halloween werewolf won’t be back this year.)
• Lowe’s: Halloween hit the shelves at Lowe’s in mid-July and we’re loving the deals on animatronic and inflatable outdoor decor.
• Amazon: Shop costumes under $25 and score Amazon Halloween candy deals in late August.
• Costco: The viral Disney Halloween Village is back this year and we’ve also seen animatronics, indoor decor, and costumes available in stores.
• Sam’s Club: Check your local Sam’s for Halloween candy, outdoor Halloween decor, costumes, and apparel.
• QVC: Deals up to 60% off on Halloween figurines, drinkware, and indoor or outdoor Halloween decor.
• Spirit: A Halloween-lover’s favorite, Spirit Halloween locations are popping up across the U.S. and we’re seeing indoor decor and deals on animatronics.
• JOANN: Indoor and outdoor decorations, Halloween crafting supplies, costume patterns, and more are already available.
• Bath & Body Works: The Halloween 2023 Collection arrived July 24 for all shoppers, in-store and online. Find candles, hand soaps, and even body care in spooky scents.

 

When to shop Halloween clearance sales to get 50% – 70% off.

If you want to start preparing really far in advance (like. . . for next year) you can start planning your Halloween clearance shopping schedule now. You’ll be able to shop at retailers like Target, Lowe’s, and JOANN. Think about checking shelves 1 – 2 weeks before Halloween day. Shop other retailers like Walmart, Home Depot, and Spirit on November 1 or later to get the biggest discounts.
