As a seasoned couponer of 2 years, I have experienced more highs than lows in the couponing arena. The sudden thrill has calmed to a slight tickle, but all in all, I remain committed to my new way of spending. That being said, I have experienced couponing fatigue at times, and it can sneak up on you unexpectedly!

I’ve listed a few things that happen to me when I know I’m couponing excessively and my life is out of balance. I hope they will help you identify symptoms of couponing burnout or fatigue before it occurs!

Couponing fatigue warning sign #5: Lack of recruiting

How many times have you passed on a good deal to a friend? My co-workers love it when I bring them samples of my deals like free toothpaste, herbal teas and hand lotions. Two of my co-workers have begun shopping at CVS and getting ECBs and MCM deals, and now we trade coupons at work every Monday! It’s a great feeling to help others save money. I know I’m in a couponing funk when I don’t share my great deals with my friends and family.

Here are a few signs to watch out for:

•    Forgetting to share deals and couponing enthusiasm with others
•    Wavering commitment
•    Not educating people about the KCL way
•    Losing sight of why you started couponing

Bottom line: Don’t feel guilty when you need a break—you certainly deserve it after all of the money you have saved. Change up your routine and get that excitement back!
