Where can I find the best Chromebook Black Friday deals?

We’ve seen some great discounts of anywhere from $50 to $300 off. We’ve found the best sales from Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart. In 2022, we saw up to $200 off, which was a lesser discount than we saw in 2021. Amazon and Target offered the deepest discounts in 2022 and we’ll likely see the same in 2023. But we’ve seen very good deals from Best Buy in the past, so we’ll be keeping an eye on all three.

Why should you get a Chromebook?

With the rise of remote work, Chromebooks are fitting more and more needs. Chromebooks have been around for over a decade and evolved for what we need. It would be best if you first thought of what your needs are. If you’re an avid gamer, the Chromebook is not for you.

When deciding if a Chromebook is for you, write out all your wants and needs. Make a list of what you absolutely have to do and what you like to do. If you do most of your work in a browser, then the Chromebook will be a fantastic fit for you. Google has comparable alternatives to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. These are Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.

Chromebooks have Progressive Web Apps, or PWAs. These apps are like those you use on your smartphone, meaning you can use them offline. For example, Microsoft Office apps are available as PWAs. Other apps such as Instagram are also available for Chromebooks.

Benefits of a Chromebook

Chromebooks have an amazing laptop function, but they also have a very good tablet function as well. Their operating system (OS) is much different than that of an average laptop.

The OS works with Google. This OS is much lighter than that of Windows and is much easier to do cloud-based work. In addition, this computer style updates automatically, ensuring you always get the best function from it. With the automatic updates, you also get an added sense of security knowing that your computer will update to keep from getting any malware.

Malware is short for malicious software. Because of how manufacturers design the OS, Chromebooks are naturally secure from this form of security breach. Due to the lack of malware, it’s the perfect choice for schools.

Every Chromebook uses profiles. In order to have a profile, you use your Gmail to log in. Every profile gets to download what they need, and it doesn’t transfer to the other profiles. When logging in to your profile, you get access to all of your Google apps, such as Google Docs, Google Slides, and Youtube.

Chromebooks also have a good battery life, usually between nine and 11 hours; this is different from Windows computers which have an average 3- to 4-hour battery life. In addition, Chromebooks tend to last well off of a charger, which means they’re great when you’re working on the road or don’t have a charger with you.

Chromebook Functions

Chromebooks usually come with two to four gigabytes of RAM, making them a good bargain for nongamers. RAM is Random Access Memory; RAM is what your computer uses to load apps. The higher the RAM gigabyte number, the better your apps run.

Two gigabytes will get you the basics, web searching, and minimal app usage. The speed of this also depends on how much processing speed your computer has. Four gigabytes will improve the functionality and ability to multitask when using a Chromebook.

A Chromebook can do various tasks, and it’s a primarily web-based laptop. Schools tend to buy these laptops en masse. They’re built for people whose jobs are online.

The Chromebook has a variety of sizes, ranging anywhere from 10.1″ to 17.3″. The most popular sizes are 11.6″, 13.3″, and 15.6″

Chromebook Speed

Processors vary according to manufacturers, so speed will vary. The i5 processor, for example, that’s found in the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook allows the laptop to hit a maximum CPU rate of 3.6 GHz. The Lenovo Chromebook S330 may be a tad slower with its MediaTek MT8173C processor.

Chromebook Savings

Unlike laptops from HP or Apple, you’ll find Chromebooks made by many brands, which means you have various options for the price. For example, premium models start between $400 – $500. But you can buy a reliable model for $200 – $300.
